There was lots of Facebook love for Part 1 of Kara and Tim's rustic wedding yesterday.

Which is hardly surprising considering their outrageously beautiful ceremony out in the wide, open space at Spicers Peak Lodge in Queensland, Australia.

And their creative use of an old piano!

Well, now it's time to share their intimate, rustic Italian style, alfresco lunch reception.

Theirs was a farm fresh styled celebration filled with good food, good company and above all else, love.

These stunning photos were taken by Nikole Ramsay Photography.

Theme

Our overall theme was that of nature and landscape and making the most of it. We requested to have our ceremony in the cow paddock of Spicers Peak Lodge, and we also requested to have an alfresco long lunch. We didn’t want to over style the wedding as we didn’t want to over shadow the raw sense of beauty that the landscape was providing. The long lunch table had citrus on branches running down the middle of it. Gathered from the community garden at the end of our street and also from a friend’s citrus farm.

Décor & Details

Rustic Italian incorporating the land. As the reception was in winter and outdoors we decided to provide wool lap blankets to each of our guets. Each was hand sewn by our lovely friend Sally.  For the bonbonnaire we had a produce table, where upon leaving our guests packed a bag full of seasonal produce gathered from farmers in the region. Some of the produce was also the first crop for some of the Queensland flood affected farmers.

The Refreshments

The resident Chef Ash from Spicers collabroated with us.  We gave him the brief of sourcing local produce in season, and he delivered us a creative menu beyond belief.  Using local produce we had a delightful long lunch inspired by tradition and values. The wine was sourced from Logan Wines at our request, old friends of Kara’s with seriously great taste and craftsmenship. At every landmark occasion we always celebrate with Logan Wines.

We really wanted to let everyone know what they were eating and drinking, so I asked Rick of Frank Creates to paint up an old blackboard I sourced with the menu. Plus now we have a wonderful memento from the day.

The Entertainment

For canapes Clemet of Collete (the well known Parisan store) prepared a playlist for us of loving and fun french music.  We then partied to our favourite songs into the evening after the folk band completed their set.

Favorite moment

There were so many, though one that sticks in both our minds is when we walked down the aisle together. It was so incredibly special to take in all of our friends and family who had travelled to our location as rose petals were being thrown up in the air. I think Nikole has such an ability when it comes to these sorts of reportage shots which I love of hers, raw and emotional.

Advice for other couples planning their weddings

Enjoy the process leading up to that special day. Ignore the hype of the wedding and don’t let it overwhelm you. The whole event should be fun. Just let the day flow how its meant to.

Doesn't it look like such a relaxed, fun dinner party? I'm loving the natural, citrus vine table runners / centrepieces and those blankets are such a sweet and cosy favour idea.

Congratulations Kara and Tim, I hope you're enjoying married life to the max!

Thanks to Nikole Ramsay Photography for inspiring us with her beautiful photography ~ it's always such a pleasure featuring her work.
