Ivory lace, polka dots, soft pastels, space hoppers, DIY stationery & one of the prettiest bouquets I've ever seen.

These are just a few of the many reasons why I've fallen head over feathered, Emmy heels for Catherine and James' wedding.

It was a quintessentially English, effortlessly elegant affair with lawn games, live music and peacocks roaming around the grounds of the stunning Larmer Tree Gardens. What a venue!

Lisa Dawn Photography did such a wonderful job capturing the romance, beauty and joy of the day.

Prepare to be inspired…

From Catherine, the bride:

The Flowers

The bouquets were a mix of Roses, and Peonies in pinks and creams with Silver Brunia.

The Ceremony

We married at the same church that my parents had been married at 38 years ago! It was the church that was the deciding factor really – as it had so much family history. We didn't have a first look – I was so looking forward to walking down the aisle and seeing James! One of our readings was by Emily Dickinson my favourite poet.

The Wedding Music

We had a lovely string quartet for our church service, which was incredibly romantic! A traditional jazz band played on the singing theatre at Larmer Tree Gardens for our reception, and Jason Hart and his fabulous band helped us party the night away!

The Refreshments

We serves canapes at our Champagne reception followed by a relaxed BBQ for our wedding breakfast. A family friend is an excellent cake maker, she created such a pretty cake for us that echoed the lace on my dress, and our florist added fresh flowers on the morning of the wedding.

Décor & Details

We made all the decorations and props ourselves, as well as the table plan and stationery!

We had fresh flowers and foliage in enamel jugs and jam jars decorated with lace. We used little silver bird place name holders to reflect the garden feel, and the feathers we had used as a symbol throughout the day.

Favourite Moment

We were able to sneak a few minutes alone whilst all our guests were taking their seats for the wedding breakfast. It was lovely to have 10 minutes together during all the excitement, just the two of us – I think it was then we realized “we've done it!”

Photography

Lisa Dawn Photography provided us with the most wonderful photographs of our wedding day! Lisa and Scott were fantastic and made us feel relaxed. They were a joy to have with us on the day.

Advice For Other Couples

Plan ahead and be as organised as you can! Above all, it's such a special day and it is about the two of you – everyone is there because they love you and want to support you. So enjoy every moment as the day itself goes so quickly!

Doesn't Catherine look utterly stunning in her Stephanie Allin wedding dress?

Many thanks to Catherine and James for sharing your day, I hope you're loving newly married life.

Thanks also to the lovely husband and wife team behind Lisa Dawn Photography for sharing their gorgeous photos with us.
