Siân and Rich had a deliciously rustic and quirky English barn wedding filled to the brim with pastel hues, DIY details and vintage inspired floral fabrics.
Featuring a dapper groom in a blue suit and floral bow tie, a beautiful bride channeling her inner Hollywood starlet in lace and tulle, with side swept hair and a DIY blusher veil, home made chutney favors, a typewriter guestbook, The Fabric Hoop Table Plan of Awesomeness, bespoke bridesmaids dresses fashioned out of floral fabric, a cake of cheese, gramaphone DJ, vintage cars and hand made wooden cake toppers.

From The Bride…
We got married on 29th June 2012 in Somerset. The wedding was in a church in Pill (North Somerset), the village I grew up in, and the reception was in a tythe barn near Bath where my husband and I now live.
We didn't want the wedding to have too much of a theme, just to have a DIY, rustic, vintagey feel. We used pinks and blue's as our main colours. It was a perfect day, and even the weather (almost) stayed dry!
The Wedding Dress
My wedding dress was the first I tried on. I didn't want anything too flouncy, something with an ‘old hollywood' style glamour and preferably lace. I came across San Patrick, a spanish company which had some beautiful dresses, one in particular called Clarin.
The range was only stocked in one shop in Bristol so that was the first (and only) one I went to. When I got there I spotted ‘my' dress straight away! I tried 4 others on just to make sure (including a proper meringue) but there was no question. I loved the lace, the tulle and the shape of the dress.
My shoes were sparkly cinderella shoes from Nine West with a small heel, so I didn't look taller than Rich!
The Décor & Details
We wanted it to look rustic and have vintage elements.
We made the invitations and orders of service, the chutneys for the favours, the cake toppers, and collected LOADS of vintage teapots, jugs and old books to make up the table displays. We also had my typewriter as a guest book. We had a gramophone DJ playing during the drinks reception, which everyone enjoyed – my nan in particular!
Bridesmaids Dresses
The bridesmaids dresses were made from vintage pink floral fabric by Dig For Victory, a Brighton company I found whilst reading wedding blogs! They chose them in different styles to suit their figures, and I think they both looked great!
They both had little boys who we had as pageboys, they wore grey torusers and braces, and pink spotty bow ties.
The Flowers
We wanted the flowers to look like we'd picked them from a garden and our florist, Bramble & Wild, did a great job. I wanted peonies and tea roses in my bouquet, and pink and blue colours. The buttonholes were cream, with Rich's also having some blue to go with his suit, and the bridesmaids wore wrist corsages as they both had small boys to carry!
The flowers at the reception were arranged in teapots, jugs and jars and had a ‘just picked from the garden' feel.
Groom & Groomsmen's Attire
Rich didn't want a traditional wedding suit, and we wanted him to stand out as he was a pretty important part of the day!
We found a blue Reiss suit online that was in the sale, and went in to the shop to have a closer look.Whilst in there, I saw a brighter blue suit that wasn't in the sale (unfortunately!), but as soon as Rich tried it on we knew that it was perfect. He chose some brown Dune shoes, and we found a floral bow tie on ebay that looked great.
The groomsmen wore two piece suits hired from Moss Bros, with pink ties to match the bridesmaids dresses.

The Photography
The photography was really important to us as we wanted to be able to look back at the photo's and remember all the details and things that happened during the day. Priston Mill had a list of recommended photographers which we looked through and marked out of 10! We then met with our top three, and Joseph really impressed with his style of photography and his understanding of what we wanted.
We're really pleased with our photo's – they definitely bring back all the memories of the day!
