Passports at the ready, it's time to blog around the world!

Hello Lovelies!

I am Alicia from The Charity Wedding and I am excited to present another round of Blog Around the World with some of my favorite wedding bloggers! I recently helped organized a styled shoot using the theme of a Vintage Desert Safari. Each blogger will be showcasing a photo from the shoot and sharing some tips, advice, or just some pretty-eye candy for you to enjoy! Be sure to visit all the blogs to make sure you catch all the goodness! Thanks so much to all of the participants!

So here's the gorgeous image I chose from the Vintage Desert Safari shoot to share with you:

I chose this image because, to me it represents a bride on a mission, searching for her perfect wedding ~ like I'm sure most of you reading this are. I remember it well…

We head off as explorers ~ into the big wide wedding world, armed with copies of wedding magazines, laptops full of bookmarked wedding blogs and beautiful images, following the tracks of the brides before us and the scent of our favourite flowers. Often stalking certain wedding dresses for weeks or months, trying to decide which is ‘the one'.

We are told by our married friends and family to prepare for wedding planning to be hard work and that there will be many adventures and misadventures along the journey towards ‘I Do'. We are warned about wild beasts such as ‘the picky mother in law' and tasks such as ‘the dreaded seating plan'.  And anyone who has ever attended a packed out wedding fair or designer dress sample sale foretells the dangers of ‘the stampede'.

We are led to believe that wedding planning is all about hunting things down {‘the dress hunt'} and ticking them off our to do lists. But I think it's important to remember that the journey and exploration is all part of the fun ~ the wedding planning process is full of once in a lifetime experiences to be savored and enjoyed. Never again will you get to try on wedding dresses with your mum, talk at length about that one beautiful white dress with your bridesmaids or go menu tasting with your fiance.

So I guess what I'm trying to say, in my overly metaphorical, round about way, is enjoy the thrill of the chase!
