Some wedding dress collections are pretty, or elegant, or classic, but today’s collection is sheer sexiness, total glamour, and unadulterated eye candy.
Having just launched a brand new flagship boutique in London, it was only fitting that Riki Dalal named her 2017 collection after her chic new neighbourhood, Mayfair.
With a lookbook shot around London’s iconic landmarks and less famous backstreets, The Mayfair Collection is perhaps Dalal’s most daring and modern yet, with necklines plunging lower, skirts looking sheerer, and silhouettes even more dramatic than before.
But with pretty sleeves, ruffle and tiered detailing, blush tones, and lots, and lots of texture, these gowns are not to be dismissed as all seduction and no romance.
This collection may not be for a traditional kind of bride, but it could certainly be tailored and styled for a more timeless take on contemporary design.
Scroll down to see for yourself but first up, we have the team from Riki Dalal to tell us more.
About the Collection
Each piece captures the seductive elements of the luxe contemporary woman, personifying edgy and fierce designs.
Beautiful one-of- a-kind fabrics add life to a new season in the haute couture world; feminine silhouettes, deep cuts and luxurious textures are perfect for the fashion-loving, contemporary bride.
Each design has a unique shape and pattern inspired by earlier signature styles so they are sure to represent every brides dream gown.
With clean functional lines and quality construction, Riki Dalal plays with color and uses more variations of white such as: blushes, ivories, powders, and nudes.
Dalal states “We love when brides add a bit of color to their gown, and what better way to do so then with a touch of one of Pantone’s Colors of the Year (rose quartz).”
In addition, with a less conservative approach this season, Dalal has created a bridal jumpsuit sure to change the meaning of bridal style. With an impressive fit, princess sleeves, and a plunging neckline, there is no doubt that this piece will captivate the fashion forward bride.
The jumpsuit has to be my favourite, (doesn’t it look awesome from the back?) but I do really love the layers of pink tulle on the more dramatic gowns too – so romantic!
