More and more these days, couples are eschewing all the luxury and embellishments of a traditional wedding and opting for something entirely low key, relaxed and organic.
One particular trend in this direction, is the one for backyard weddings.
We couldn’t think of anything cooler than hosting an intimate celebration in the garden of your own home, and today’s inspiration shoot shows how to do it, in a way that embraces your surroundings with lots of natural touches.
Photographed by Lauren J Photography, with creative direction and florals by Emma Natter, this shoot uses stunning blooms, raw silk, hemp, linen and gemstone textures, luxe calligraphy, romantic attire and beautiful food, to demonstrate how to deliver a organic wedding that’s still fun, elegant, and entirely gorgeous.
Before you check out the shoot for yourself, read more from the lovely Emma Natter about the earthy inspiration behind it.
We were inspired by a lot of the earthy elements in Oregon: the wood, the moss, the rich soil, the earth colors.
We tried to bring that out in aspects of the shoot with the moss as part of the table setting, and the name cards inspired with names from the earth like Cypress, Autumn, and Clementine. The house and garden we shot at was so incredibly gorgeous and blooming amazingly.
We were also inspired by Brian Doyle, an Oregon writer, who said “Love is the story and the prayer that matters the most.”
I thought this real couple really made that come to life here.
So many nice ideas. I love sharing plates of cheeses and fruits, it adds a real feel of celebration and abundance to a table, do you think? The loose, mossy meets elegant feel of the florals is beautiful. And did so spot the engagement ring? So gorgeous!
