If you’re an avid follower of our Instagram Stories (and if not, you should be, there are a lot of pretty things on there!), you’ll know that last week, we went to Birmingham to check out the brand new David’s Bridal store.

And it was amazing!

Now we feature lots of David’s Bridal dresses on the blog, both from new collections and on real brides, and we’ve seen them lots of times on catwalks and at showcases. But I’m almost embarrassed to say, this was my first ever time at a David’s Bridal store – and I was so impressed.

Maybe I’m the last one to the party, but it’s a veritable one-stop-shop for everything you could need for your wedding, from gowns, accessories and shoes, to mother of the bride and groom outfits, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, plus lots of cute PJs and getting ready robes, and fun wedding merch. (I left with an awesome tote bag that said Totes Engaged!)

So today, I wanted to share more about the store itself, the services they offer, and tell you about how you can win a £1000 David’s Bridal wedding dress with our friends at Bridebook.

David’s Bridal Dress

Birmingham is the fourth David’s Bridal store to open in the UK, and it’s by far the biggest.

On the shop floor there are over 100 wedding dresses for brides to try on from, across David’s Bridal collections from their own designs to their collaborations; White by Vera Wang, Wonder by Jenny Packham, and Truly Zac Posen among them.

David’s Bridal stock sizes 4-34, and have some of the dresses in-store on curvier mannequins, which I found really refreshing and inclusive.

The fitting rooms (more like a fitting suite!) are extensive, with plenty of room for you to bring along your bridesmaids/mum/granny/neighbours to help you find ‘The One’. They ring a bell every time a bride finds her dream dress – how fun is that!

We toured the Alterations Room too, and it was cool to see how easily you can make changes to your dress, all under one roof.

From a Silhouette Wall, which shows you all the styles available and how to choose one that suits your shape, to the Veil Gallery (I tried on at least three!), the entire store experience is designed to be as helpful, enjoyable, and as stress-free as possible.

I honestly would recommend every bride take a visit, if you’ve never tried on dresses or thought about accessories before, this really is the place to get a crash course in all things wedding style.

To celebrate the opening of the new Birmingham store, David’s Bridal have teamed up with Bridebook to co-host a £1000 David’s Bridal Dress Giveaway.

Bridebook (if you’re not yet aware) is a game-changing resource for UK brides. It’s a website that allows you to plan your wedding (every last detail) and track your budget (every last penny) all in one place.

It launched earlier this year, and I have to say, I was a little bit livid it hadn’t been around when I started planning my wedding, it’s so helpful for everything from sourcing venues and vendors, to working out how much things should cost, along with some great expert advice. Do check it out!

Click here to see how you can enter their giveaway, and be in with a chance to win £1000 credit to spend at any David’s Bridal store in the UK. (Now that would come in very handy!).

Check out Bridebook’s post on the new store too, for lots of snaps of what it looks like, and hit our gallery below to see some of our favourite David’s Bridal dresses.

Oh and check out the Store Locator to find your nearest David’s Bridal store or click here to Book an Appointment.
