10 Gorgeous Real Brides Rock Galia Lahav Wedding Dresses

Galia Lahav Wedding Dress

Galia Lahav has long been one of those wedding dress collections that we eagerly anticipate every season.

Last year, Elizabeth and I attended a viewing for their dresses at Bridal Fashion Week in New York, and can vouch that they were just as jaw-dropping in real life, as they look in the pictures.

But the thing is, when you’re gushing over lookbooks and swooning over catwalks, it’s always models wearing the dresses. So, it can be hard to know what these gorgeous gowns would look like on a real bride.

Now I know models are real women too, but if you’re a bride who’s fallen in love with a wedding dress, and you’re not seven foot tall, (with a glam squad of hairdressers and make-up artists following you around) you might feel slightly nervous about how it will look on you. We hear you!

So, we’ve teamed up with Galia Lahav to talk about their stunning wedding dresses, and bring you some of the stories behind ten real brides who rocked the couture Israeli designer’s gowns on their big day – and looked beautiful doing it…

I’d always imagined Galia Lahav brides as super sexy and ultra glamorous. But I love that this line up of real brides really highlights the versatility of the collection, and shows how a little creative styling, and personalised hair, make-up and accessories, will give your wedding dress a whole new feel.

Katharina (left and above) is German bride who created a boho look for her destination wedding in Thailand, with a custom made Galia Lahav wedding dress. While Rita (both pictures below) went for an entirely sultry, Old Hollywood look for her big day.

I just love how contrasting the two looks are, and how they differ so much from the Galia Lahav catwalk style we’re so used to!

Next, is stunning bride Sharon (with husband James) who wore Juliana from the Ivory Tower Collection by Galia Lahav, for her and James’ intimate Maldives wedding. I love that she went for something so luxurious for a beach wedding, the jewel embellishment on the front gave her gown a touch of vintage sparkle too.

“I knew I wanted a dress that was reflective of me – Bold yet understated, strong yet feminine, elegant, unique and adaptable… I always LOVED Galia Lahav gowns and was obsessed with how sexy yet classy most of her designs were. When I saw the Juliana gown I was immediately blown away.”

Santorini is one of the most epic places in the world to get married, so it calls for some serious drama in a wedding dress to match. Galia bride, Dr. Essie Yates, (above) was all about the attention to detail, so she chose the Patchouli gown, with its backless silhouette and pearl strands for a truly one-of-a-kind look.

For a timeless, classic take on a Galia Lahav wedding dress, Meghan (to the right and below) had the most beautiful mermaid-style silhouette, with an embellished backless bodice and lace straps for her Napa nuptials. Isn’t it gorgeous?

Below, show-stopping bride Lucie, opted for a classic meets contemporary look, blending the romantic texture of the back with the ultra feminine silhouette of the bodice, on her Loretta gown.

“I had a very specific idea of my wedding dress, I’ve been looking for a while and one day, I saw on the internet a picture of the gorgeous gown, Loretta! I knew instantly that it was my dress, it was exactly what I wanted, the next moment (the second after) I was making an appointment in Madrid to take my measurements.”

McKenzie (above) was elegant and regal in the Tiger Lily gown from Galia’s Les Revs Bohemian collection. She found Galia Lahav on Instagram, and fell in love with the long sleeves, lace and pearl detailing, and the dramatic deep-V neckline.

Toni (right and below) was gorgeous in her strapless Crystal gown paired with a romantic Galia Lahav veil. We’re a little bit obsessed with the figure-hugging shape and thigh-high split, while the soft texture around the train adds a touch of romance to the contemporary style.

“I had been looking at Galia dresses for around four years with my cousin/best friend Rio and only dreaming of one day wearing one. When I announced the news (of our engagement), one of the first replies I got was of a Galia dress from Rio saying, this has to be your dress! That’s how much I was in love with the designs.”

And now for our final two beautiful real brides…

You might recognise our penultimate couple, TV presenter, Michael Yo and his breathtaking bride, Claire Schreiner? This pair got married in California with a romantic Valentine’s Day wedding. We just love her princess-worthy look and luxe florals.

And last but most certainly not least, is Shir, an Israeli bride who wore a stunning gown with an embellished bodice with crystal straps, and a playful tulle skirt – don’t you just love the movement? So romantic!

…And as for that bow in her hair? Pure perfection.

It’s so exciting to see these gowns on real brides on their wedding days – it gives a whole new, authentic and romantic feel to the collection, don’t you think?
