Guess what? One year ago today I married the man of my dreams!

As it's mine and Zee's one year anniversary I thought it was about time I shared the inspiration and photos from our wedding day with you lovely readers.

I didn't know how to make inspiration boards back then so I saved HUNDREDS of inspirational images I found on wedding blogs/Google searches onto my laptop. Then transfered them onto my Iphone to scroll through and share with family/friends/vendors or just stare at them lovingly when I was on the go.

{If you'd like to learn how to create your own inspiration boards click here for my step by step guide.}

Today I'm sharing with you what my inspiration board probably would have looked liked…click on it to see it nice and big.

The vision I had for our wedding was English, vintage elegance with a hint of Arabic mystique.

Zee and I are quite classic with our style and home decor choices ~ so I wanted to plan a chic, classy and timeless wedding for us. I'm also a lover of all things vintage so that definitely affected my choices too.

{By the way, I say ‘I' instead of ‘we' because Zee was probably the world's least ‘hands on' groom ~ he just said ‘whatever makes you happy' which was lovely…but somewhat infuriating at times!}

The Colour Palette ~ Ivory, blush pink and antique gold. The colour palette was inspired by our choice of venue. A Jane Austen style building, with the most beautiful blush pink and gold ballroom!

My Bridal Look ~ I knew from early on in the planning process that I wanted a vintage esque lace dress with some sort of sleeve detail and my hair down in vintage waves. Rita Hayworth and Megan Fox provided my hair inspiration! For a long time I intended on wearing a vintage asymmetric headpiece but the romance of a pretty flower kept enticing me.

The Perfect Veil ~ I had visions of sweeping along gracefully wearing a long veil with a chapel train ~ like this stunning black and white image of a real bride by This Modern Romance:

The Flowers ~ As you can see, I'm a bit rose obsessed. That's because Zee would often call me his English rose. I also adore fluffy peonies ~ so my thoughts were roses and peonies in shades of blush pink, peaches and cream.

The Bridesmaids ~ I flitted between wanting my bridesmaids in black, grey or blush pink.

The Groomsmen ~ Classic black suits of course ~ Zee in a three piece to stand out.

Arabic Touches ~ I also wanted to incorporate Arabic touches as a nod to Zee's culture, so I was on the hunt for pretty white Moroccan lanterns to dot about the venue and dreamt about shisha pipes and mint tea sets.

The Invitations ~ We actually sent classically designed eco-friendly email invites but a select few VIPs received this blush lace topped invite:

You are cordially invited to see how my inspiration turned into reality later today on Bridal Musings!
