Happy International Women’s Day!
Anyone else think we need a Women’s Week this year?
It’s so important that we take every opportunity we get to celebrate women. To mark their achievements, to acknowledge their struggles, and to stand in solidarity with the most vulnerable women and girls, both at home and around the world.
Last year, we used International Women’s Day to kick off our viral campaign with UNICEF to End Child Marriage. If you’re new to BM, I urge you to take a look.
This year, we’ll be taking part in the Global Women’s Strike. This afternoon I’ll be downing tools and picking up a placard, to go march for women’s rights.
But before we go, we thought we’d leave you with a little International Women’s Day inspiration, Bridal Musings’ style.
Our job at Bridal Musings is a pure joy. We get to gush all about a couple’s happiest occasion, and celebrate love, and parties, as our day job.
But it can feel frivolous at times. We talk a lot about dresses, jewellery, hair and make-up, all of which cost money, and all of which brides can feel pressured to get ‘just right’ for their big day.
But what I hope you also see when you read our blog, between all the lace and the sequins, are the real women behind the weddings we feature every day. The brides, the besties, the sisters, and the mums. The talented wedding professionals, the inspiring small (and large) business owners, and the creative designers who make those days happen.
So as we continue to bring you more positive, confidence-inducing, stress-busting Healthy Happy Bride content this year, we wanted to leave you with a gallery of just some of the awesome women we get to celebrate on Bridal Musings every day.
