Dreamy Blush Pink Wedding in the Arizona Desert

Is there a more dreamy color palette than the sandy tones of the Sonoran Desert?

The golden desert sun, jade green succulents, dusty mesquite trees, navy suits, and splashes of blush pink florals set the most romantic backdrop for Elizabeth and Herb’s Arizona wedding.

Romance spills over the first half of the day, from navy stationary with awe dropping  gold script by Freed Hands, to plush bouquets of eucalyptus, roses and accented succulents from Sarah’s Garden.  The photographers, Amy & Jordan took full advantage of these blush tones with their airy, beautiful, fine art approach (which we love so much!)

The quiet romance from the early afternoon revs up for the reception, where Imoni Events created an environment so fun we wish we were there.  Ice cream sandwiches, a VW Bus photobooth, cigar roller, a dj and even a live band played on to help dance the night away.  Next time you throw a party Elizabeth and Herb, we’re there.

Our Love Story

Herb & I were introduced by my best friend, Colleen. Our mutual weirdness and love for adventure had us dating almost immediately. Fast forward almost 7 years and here we are married and still the best of friends!

We took a weekend trip to Sedona to celebrate our 5 year anniversary with our puppy, Lucy. Little did I know, Herb had something special planned that weekend.

We hiked our favorite trail, Call of The Canyon. We have hiked this trail several times, in pretty much every season besides winter, so a 6 mile hike in the snow sounded intriguing and fun. After a few miles in, and several slippery creeks crossed, we had made it to what Herb refers to as “the spot.” Now, this “spot” where Herb proposed, was very special to the both of us because the last time we were there it was absolutely breathtaking and a place we had talked about coming back to again soon. Once we had arrived, it was just the three of us surrounded by nothing but beautiful Sedona red rocks, crisp forest trees and pure white snow when Herb dropped to one knee and asked me to spend forever with him and Lucy.

The Styling

When we first started to plan our wedding, we both sat down and talked about what was really important to the both of us. We agreed on pretty much everything. Our color palette was blush, gold, navy and white. We wanted our day to feel rustic, romantic and really “us.” We had wooden signs, tons of candles, beautiful white & light pink roses with accents of succulents.

The Ceremony

We had one of our favorite musicians, Jake Greider, play our ceremony music. He is a mix of Dave Matthews and Radiohead. The ceremony was really personable as we both expressed our love through our own vows to each other.

A very special moment for us was when my brother, Marek, officiated our marriage. Our ceremony was full of so much love!

The Photography

I met Amy & Jordan at an ‘I DO’ event at El Chorro. Herb wasn’t able to attend because he was working so my mom joined me and when we met them, it was an instant connection. They are hard not to love as soon as you meet them and I knew Herb would feel the same way. He and Jordan had this humor together that made picture taking a lot of fun! Their work speaks for itself. The moments they both capture are so raw and beautiful and it is something we get to cherish in our pictures forever.

The Cinematography

We met the owner of Serendipity, Taryn, and we both loved her immediately. After watching a few sample videos, we knew they were the ones for us. They tell a story that is unique to each couple. A few weeks after our wedding, we got our trailer and let me just tell you…I balled my eyes out and this was only a few minutes of our entire day. I can’t wait to see our full video!!

The Reception

The food was incredible and we decided to skip the traditional cake cutting and served all of our guests ice cream sandwiches from The Baked Bear. Our band was a blast and played the perfect mix of live music and dj music. We had a cigar roller on site, which was a huge hit for all of the guys, as well as a vintage VW bus for our photo booth. We both can honestly say that there isn’t a single thing we would have changed about our wedding. It was a complete dream come true and fairytale day that we will never forget.

Advice to Other Couples

I could not have imagined planning this incredible day without our wedding planner, Jenni. She saw our vision and delivered every single time when it came to who she recommended for our vendors.

On the big day, take it all in. Don’t sweat the small stuff and just enjoy every single moment because the day really does fly by. I would recommend having a first look. We both were really nervous all day and as soon as we saw each other all of that went away. It is a moment we both will never forget.

Our Honeymoon

We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We waited a month to take the trip which was the best decision and something I would recommend to all couples. It allowed us to recover from the busy week and weekend, write out all of our thank you cards and get ready for our honeymoon. This way we could really enjoy ourselves and each other for the 8 days away. It was the best trip we have ever been on. From the moment we arrived, it was perfect parts adventure and relaxation. Not to mention, how unbelievably breathtaking the views of St. Lucia are and colors of the water don’t even do justice in pictures!
