This English manor will make you dream of a romantic, fairytale wedding

Is there anything more classic, more romantic, than a countryside castle wedding? Ok so maybe it isn’t a castle, (I’m told in the UK you may call this a house, or manor? If only that were a house in the US!) but I’m getting nothing but fairytale, royal wedding vibes in this gorgeous styled shoot at the historic Port Eliot in Cornwall.

Knot & Pop seamlessly matched the estate’s antique opulence with modern luxury in bridal wear and accessories. The intricate lace paneling and long sleeves on the Yolan Cris gown is so current, while her Kristen Hayes chandelier earrings add an air of aristocratic glamour. I’ve got my heart locked on the gold roman style tiara, so timeless and elegant.

Port Eliot, where we told this story, has been lived in for over 1000 years and is believed to be the oldest continually inhabited dwelling in the United Kingdom.

The earliest written reference to this home is from the 5th century AD, Augustinian monks were there from the year 937, while the earliest remaining evidence of a dwelling on the site is a 1500-year-old glazed tiled floor, dating from the late Iron Age. In the 18th century, Sir John Sloane remodeled the Grade I-listed priory and house and landscape gardener Humphrey Repton created the gardens and park.

Starting with this tranquil and beautiful safe haven of a setting, we focused on the Far Eastern elements found within the home. Port Eliot is full of the accumulated treasures of its long history with both the architectural details and decoration, and the home’s antiquities provided us with our palette of springtime oriental colours with touches of gold.

We focused on a luxurious and chic bridal style, drawing on materials and textures that felt classical and opulent whilst remaining bohemian, modern and relevant.
