This cool bridal jumpsuit may make you reconsider a courthouse wedding

Free-spirited couples have been bucking the big wedding trend and flocking to the courthouse for decades for loads of admirable reasons. Maybe you want a simple intimate ceremony, you wish to spend less money on your wedding, or maybe you’ve truly been dreaming of that romantic courthouse ceremony.

But just because you’re running off to a quick and simple City Hall ceremony, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the bridal fashion fun. Rachel Birkhofer styled and shot this cool, contemporary courthouse wedding inspiration with a soft elegance normally reserved for traditional wedding style. While the bride wears a tremendously hip and stylish white Trina Turk jumpsuit, the look is softened with a fluffy white floral crown, dramatic veil, natural makeup and a loose updo creating a romantic and elegant look.

Jack and I are throwing a destination wedding in Mexico (more on that soon), but we’ll legally have to sign our license in New York, and you can bet big money I’ll be wearing a chic jumpsuit (with pockets!) at City Hall.

Hoping to de-bunk the perception of the traditional courthouse wedding formality, our courthouse elopement creative direction is to inspire the bride who is seeking a simple yet elegant nuptials. For the floral crown and bouquet, floral designer, Samantha Crowley at Fleurt Weddings & Events, wanted to create something that would be romantic, modern and stylish.

Our real bride-to-be wore a stunning and trendy white Trina Turk jumpsuit that paired perfectly with the oversized ethereal floral crown and lush garden style bouquet that included locally grown blooms and foliage. Crowns are pulled for inspiration by thousands of brides each day, this floral crown was constructed using white sweet peas, which created a halo of fluffy romantic blooms framing the models face.

Styled and photographed by Rachel Birkhofer Photography, this shoot was brought to life by the vision of creating the element of vintage court elopements that is the original inspiration for current courthouse nuptials. Shot in an old federal courthouse, every hall and corner of this building brings inspiration for that dreamy intimate elopement so many brides wish to have.
