Year after year, in the Spanish bridal hub of Barcelona, Pronovias spoils their guests with a wedding dress runway show beyond belief. Always oohing and ahhing at the latest gowns and wild productions, we could not wait to see what the masterful atelier had next up their sleeve. Juxtaposed against wild, blooming garden, we were wowed as ever by the powerful and sexy gowns of Pronovias’ In Bloom wedding dress collection.

To our delight, Pronovias’ In Bloom celebrates the dawn of a new era – where women are more aptly being celebrated for who they are: strong, powerful, sexy and feminine. Flowers aren’t only for the romantics, their uses of blooms are wild, free and totally fresh.

We were practically jumping out of our seats to see the floral goddesses make their way down the runway. Unorthodox skin, feminine flower details, strong clean lines and curvy silhouettes had our jaws to the floor. We relished in the delight of seeing some of our favorite models glide through the garden, holding such power and confidence, you’d think it were Flora herself.

And as provocative and modern as this riotous collection appears, the atelier has managed to craft a line that is both cutting edge and inclusive to all. With fresh takes on classic silhouettes and wild changes to latest trends, a traditional bride and her edgy sister could both easily find “the one” in this captivating collection.

Much like a wild, blooming garden, the many unique gowns and details worked in perfect harmony together, each dress as one-of-a-kind as the bride who wears it.

This year’s show invited guests to discover the latest bridal trends of the 2019 Atelier Pronovias Collection under the theme “IN BLOOM,” showcasing surprising dresses with maxi volumes, in dreamy princess styles; or dresses with simpler lines and straight silhouettes.

The designs are made of fine fabrics and include breathtaking necklines and open backs, as well as suggestive transparencies in which the classic tattoo-effect is revamped thanks to geometric and floral details.

The collection reminds you of nature with floral appliqués, embroideries and fabrics such as Mikado. Color takes a central stage for the first time in magnificent and innovative proposals that appear in ombré effects and subtle and powdered colors. The collection was created in the heart of the Maison, which was designed to dress every kind of woman and enhance her beauty – a collection of dreamy dresses made real.

With a front seat to all the bridal goodness, we had plenty to gush over, but nothing was more powerful than the rich, untamed floral inspiration. The In Bloom Collection included so many homages to the floral paradise that surrounded us; the gowns featured fresh 3D appliques, luxurious, new floral laces, and our favorite avant-garde floral inspiration – the bloom pouf sleeve.

Pronovias cleverly updated the 80’s pouf sleeve to a modern, boho, off-the-shoulder puff with tight long lace sleeves and tulle wings fit for a goddess.

A wild Spanish garden wouldn’t be complete without a bit of color. With tones of apricot, blush & white peach, the collection featured grand silhouettes in shades that would charm a non-traditional bride.

But it was the sexiest of gowns that stuck with us, providing more assurance that you can be a provocative and powerful bride if you wish.

Deep v’s with strong, figure-flattering curves and nude paneling provided an extreme edge for the most daring Pronovias bride. Meanwhile, a more classic one-shoulder gown with a thigh-high slit offered a simple and just as powerful statement.

Darling Coralie bared the most skin in a fitted bodysuit and completely sheer skirt, and yet despite the provocative silhouette we found ourselves instead transfixed by the gorgeous falling, 3D blooms – making this one-of-a-kind gown both strong and feminine.

Traditional brides were still rightfully spoiled with grand ballgowns, clean lines and modest coverage while their free-spirited sisters can find solace in Caoba. The stunning bridal two-piece features the same grand volume but with the freedom to flaunt your shoulders and bare waist.

Even the simplest fabrics and most traditional silhouettes were paired with some distinct eye-catching detail – whether that be bold floral appliques, a delightful sight of bare skin or feathers – yes there were feathers!
