This romantic monastery wedding venue is not where you would expect

You would never guess that this old-world monastery hides in plain sight in bustling, modern Miami, Florida. With Spanish architecture and oozing with charm, the dreamy venue is the perfect setting for this modern and whimsical, watercolor filled wedding inspiration photographed by Cana Rose.

Whether the colorful gown takes inspiration from the watercolor stationery or the invites were made to match the dress – the two details shine in this naturally breathtaking space. With a flowing tulle skirt, the dress is full of whimsy – slightly ombre, the skirt is vibrant while the top is refined and romantic. We could see any bride looking for color but still something “bridal” falling for this beautiful wedding dress.

The invitations too, boast playful vibes. Handpainted watercolor paintings of florals and script, it’s the little differences that make these paper goods so charming, and worth saving forever. Other little details sparkle throughout the shoot, with the bride adorned with stunning earrings and a pear engagement ring we all would like to say “yes!” to.

The moment that I took my first step in to the venue I felt transported. The stone of the Ancient Spanish Monastery was almost surprising to see in sunny Florida. I felt like I had transported to Europe.

Alina’s dusty blue wedding gown was a show stopper and stood out beautifully against the stone and wrought iron elements of the Spanish Monastery. Eddie was tender and loving towards his joyful wife every moment of the day. They are truly a match made in heaven.

There are unique treasures to be found in every photograph, things far more extraordinary than I have seen at weddings. I could have photographed the gold pear shaped engagement ring all day and the watercolor invitation suite was a soft and romantic addition to the day.

The cake was a beautiful white three tier cake created by Sweet Miss V‘s. In true wedding day fashion, things were beyond our control and the design cascading down the side of the cake melted. Quick thinking on our feet we turned the melted side to face the wall and displayed the still beautiful white side. Silk and Floral elements were added and it looked absolutely perfect! Unless you knew our secret, you would think that the cake was designed that way. The final product looked stunning!

The Bride’s attire is a stunning Blanc De Blanc gown designed by Chantel Lauren. It is intricate and jaw dropping in every way. There is a gorgeous blue, navy, and light blue hand painted watercolor underlay for the bottom of the gown with a silk organza overlay. The delicate lace top of the gown pairs perfectly with the dusty blue colors.

The Groom’s attire is an equally amazing gray checkered suit from All Brides 2 Be and his bow tie is ever so handsome!
