Oh, we love a love story that comes full circle! Today’s real couple met in high school – she, the self-proclaimed dorky freshman; he, the super cool senior – and parted ways to go on with their separate lives. Years later the two reconnected and found themselves celebrating their fated love in the dreamiest, Southwestern wedding.

Call me a moth to a flame but show me anything Southwestern, mid-century modern, bohemian, cacti-related (basically describing my Brooklyn treehouse right now) and I’m drooling. Not only is this gorgeous Arizona wedding all of that, it’s so incredibly luxurious! Celebrating in a brand new, totally hip venue (they were only the second wedding!) this party is styled immaculately.

But even better is Shannon’s vintage style. With a custom, 1970’s inspired gown, and unreal lace veil, Shannon’s got all the boho-luxe vibes we could ever dream of. Shannon, can you please come style my wedding, home, and maybe just life, please?

Our Love Story

We were friends in high school but we didn’t date back then – he was a super cool senior and I was a dorky freshman.

When we reconnected later in life we were both so focused on our kids and our careers and neither of us were really looking for love. But he asked me out for dinner, everything just clicked and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

The Venue & Style

It was such a special day filled with so much love. I’m so thankful that we chose a venue where we could host the entire event outdoors. The weather was perfect and it was a full moon!

We hired my favorite band, Jon and Roy, to play for the night. That was so special. Our vendors all worked so hard so that we could relax and enjoy the day. I’m just so grateful to all of them.

Stylistically, we went for a vintage 70’s vibe with a Southwestern twist. It was so fun to plan this day and even more fun to live it. I wish we could do it again!

Favorite Moments

My favorite moment was my brother Danen’s toast. My brother is my best friend and he and my husband have also been friends since we were kids. So to hear loving, encouraging words from him was a beautiful moment for both of us.

The Photography

I wanted something different. Both Gary and I feel like real life is not a bunch of perfectly staged photos so I sought out a photographer who specializes in capturing the beauty of raw, candid – even quirky – moments. Lea of Vienna Glenn was the best thing that happened to our wedding. Her pictures are everything I ever wanted and more. That girl is amazing.

Good Vibe Media’s video was amazing as well! I feel like Carly and her crew did such a great job of capturing the joy and the style of our wedding – and she so beautifully incorporated the music of our band! My fave Canadians!

The Details

Both of us are from Arizona so I love that we chose to embrace all things Southwestern.

Mandi at Butterfly Petals really specializes in Southwestern floral details and I’m so glad I chose to work with her. I loved the little barrel cacti in my bouquet and how she weaved florals into a cholla skeleton for our sweetheart table!

Tremaine Ranch’s rugs, tables, mix and match goblets and decor also have that really cool vintage Southwestern vibe. Leah and Matt from Tremaine are just good, down to earth, hardworking people – when I met with them I knew they wouldn’t let me down.
