Today’s wedding scene is a photographer’s dream – featuring the sandstone shores of Puglia & a color palette drawn from washed up sea urchins, this styled elopement is truly natural, organic & pure Mediterranean magic.

Inspired by the delicate sea urchin shells, the small and talented Italian team foraged for nearly all of their florals and decor – showing what incredible beauty you can achieve “in the moment” and with only the natural elements at hand. With sandy tones, champagne embellishments and Italian plum, we may have found our favorite Fall color palette.

And an organic scene of foraged goods deserves custom fashion, the photographer Lace and Luce and local designer created a dreamy, off-the-shoulder gown matched ever-so-romantically with a dramatic veil and custom headpiece. Whimsical, a little bit boho, and undeniably romantic, we can see why the cool kids are flocking to Puglia.

From Lace & Luce

Our main inspiration was dried up sea urchins we found washed up on shore and used these not only as our place settings but also to set our entire colour palette for the shoot. All florals were created with foraged seashore items as well as seasonal spring local blooms. The dress was hand-made for the shoot using all Italian lace by the photographer and a local designer. We also had a custom headpiece created to flow with the colours and landscape of the Italian coast. We were also very inspired by the poetry of Pablo Neruda, in particular, this poem:

Let us look for secret things
somewhere in the world,
on the blue shore of silence
or where the storm has passed,
rampaging like a train.
There the faint signs are left,
coins of time and water,
debris, celestial ash
and the irreplaceable rapture
of sharing in the labor
of solitude and the sand

In the end, we created something very specific to the area and season, instead of planning everything in advance we allowed our exploration of the seaside at that moment of time to lead our inspiration.

The Flowers

The flowers were all created in the moment, with foraged seaside items as well as all local, seasonal blooms from this beautiful region of Italy. All of this really created a shoot that was specific to that area in that moment of time.

The Attire

The dress was designed by the photographer and a dress designer from the Amalfi Coast of Italy with a seaside elopement in mind. Using all Italian lace they created a stunning, unique piece, perfect for a more organic, natural wedding.

We also had a custom hairpiece created by Ornaigh that was handcrafted and hand-painted to match the delicate colours of our sea urchin colour palette.

The Decor

All elements were organic and romantic. A table for two set with rustic silk ribbons, antique cutlery from a local Puglia market, all was designed with items from Italian Boutique Weddings.
