While these Northeastern white-outs (and I’m sure snow blanketing much of the rest of the Northern hemisphere) may be chilly but they are providing one good thing: excellent photos. What’s one of the prettiest & easiest color palettes to photograph, and thus a fabulous idea for your wedding colors? All-white.

And an all-white wedding palette doesn’t have to be as bland as breakfast porridge (sorry, I’m not about that porridge-life). As shown by planners The Vintage House That Could & photographer Life Through A Lens, your all-white wedding can be funky, artistic & totally cool with the right styling.

The team played up the color scheme with bold white eye-shadow and dramatic dresses and played-down the rest with additions of clear lucite chairs, neutral dried florals & some sparkling gold cutlery. Everything about this modern wedding scene is funky-fresh and we absolutely can not get enough.

From The Vintage House That Could

My inspiration for this shoot came from my love for all-white decor and I wanted to show that the simpler the scheme the more stunning the decor and dresses become.

I knew I wanted a pure white space and happened upon The Flour Mill Studios. The filtered light from the original windows hit me immediately and I knew my vision could become reality, the outside space which had suffered from the burning sun was another perfect scene. From a stylist’s point of view the venue is the key to any design, often wedding concepts are conjured up after the first visit, knowing what will work best in any space.

The table design was kept minimal with simple crockery and iconic champagne glasses from Ferm Living. The white and gold cutlery from Cutipol added a touch of elegance, while the candles, marble and pure white linen napkins add texture. I created the origami paper table runner to emulate the beautiful ruffles in the first dress. The clear perspex chairs help to create the illusion that there isn’t much there.

The Photography

Becky Tranter from Life Through A Lens was my first choice to photograph the shoot, her work is light but full of life and I knew she would capture the modern aesthetic. Becky knew exactly how to use the light to her advantage and created a sense of calm.

The Stationery

Modern, unfussy with a simple botanical theme. Bonny & Clyde Studio created all of this. I created the seating plan idea using thick paint and collage, simple typography and a gallery feel

The Cakes

I sent the brief to Sweetest Thing Cakery and Leanne just ‘got it’ the trio of beautifully sculpted cakes sat seamlessly within the setting both on the Perspex boxes and the sun-bleached bench. I love the idea of having three wedding cakes, all different flavors and heights.

The Dresses

My love affair with Katya Katya started when I discovered them at Most Curious wedding fair in 2017 when I knew I had to work with their dresses and since then we have collaborated on a few things and these two designs fitted into my concept perfectly.

The first dress seemed to be made for our model Nicola, the soft tulle and lace fell around her slight frame and looked so romantic. The environment manages to show off her amazing hair and stunning features and she knew exactly how to show off the dress to its full potential.

The second dress with its beautiful Fern embroidery and the long train had just enough boho chic to bring all the other elements together, especially coupled with the strong ballet shoes and Darcys perfectly straight dancers posture.

The Florals

No flowers, just sculptural grasses, seed heads and the frothy white clouds of gypsophila for the table installation. Using the Allium seed heads for the bouquet added more texture and added that hint of colour to the white scheme.
