“Live Free” is the motto on the license plate of the classic Pontiac Grand Prix. A perfect motto, too, for this wildly fun, New Hampshire elopement inspiration styled by Haus of Gravity.

Set in a mystical Northeastern forest & photographed by Compass Collective, this quirky & cool wedding inspo gives rock & roll brides (& grooms!) plenty to ‘Pin’ about.

Fashion sets the tone for this all-too-cool elopement. A 1980s-inspired lace mini dress fits right into 2021 with its puffy sleeves and serious rule-breaking attitude. Styled with a vintage-esque dotted veil, classic Chuck Taylors & a floral-adorned hat, Bride Tatum commands the scene – and that badass Pontiac.

We love how Haus of Gravity shows you don’t have to elope in Vegas or the desert to have a free-spirited runaway elopement in a vintage car. Moreover, if you’re saying “I do” deep within the forest, ethereal woodland romances aren’t the only option. While we love both scenarios (deeply, ever so deeply) it’s refreshing when planners give couples the notion that they can have the wedding or elopement of their dreams, no matter where they say “I do”.

About the Shoot

Dana of Haus of Gravity dreamed up this free-spirited elopement inspiration shoot after being in quarantine for months, which fueled her hunger to get creative. Her Dad’s vintage ’77 Grand Prix was the focal point of the editorial and her parent’s home, right outside the White Mountains of New Hampshire, was the ideal backdrop for the elopement. Using the car’s baby blue color as inspiration, and the natural beauty of summertime in New England, the planning began.

Dana and Sarah, of Bounty O’ Blooms, decided that a bold and boho floral design would complement the feel of the editorial perfectly. Sarah crafted a wildly lush bridal bouquet, complete with feathers and velvet blue ribbons, an ornate headpiece for the model bride, Tatum, to achieve a forest goddess look and a massive spilling car install that was jaw-dropping.

Dana wanted to embrace the unique nature of the editorial and opted for an unconventional bridal look. Tatum rocked a vintage-inspired For Love and Lemons mini dress with floral lace and puff sleeves, an ethereal tulle veil and baby blue Chuck Taylors (adorned with custom T and H charms for her initials.) An ombre blue drip cake, crafted by Taylor of Village Baking Co., a leather elopement announcement suite, designed by Dani of Paper Cliché, and blue taper candles glowing in the woods at sunset all further brought this elopement inspiration shoot to life.
