Blush pink had a very long wedding reign. But ever since 2020, we’ve been vibing on every light hue of purple. Lilac & lavender are the new blush we said and it’s a trend we see continuing on for 2022 weddings…

Any bride who’s been following bridal fashion on Instagram knows Millia London is having a moment. Ruffles & whimsical colors gracing luxurious wedding scenes are aplenty these days thanks to the British bridal atelier. While their over-the-top (in the best way) wedding gowns come in a variety of stunning hues, it’s the lilac dress featured here that our hearts are pining for.

Any beautiful gown is going to look even more glorious against a Hawaiian backdrop. This, of course, rings true in this stunning Maui editorial at the Fairmont Kea Lani planned by A White Orchid Wedding and photographed by Stephanie Lynn Co. With complementing pastel florals by Designs by Hemingway, the scene is airy and beautiful, a perfect match for an island wedding.

From the moment wedding planner A White Orchid Wedding and photographer Stephanie Lynn Co saw the Millia of London gowns, they knew their romantic destination wedding dreams were about to come true. Truth be told, they had a hard time narrowing down all the prettiness, so they opted to bring fashion to the forefront and feature five gowns. The whimsy of color and the romantic influence were the perfect pairing for this luxurious wedding fashion editorial.

They had the dresses, they knew Maui was the destination, and now the details would easily fall into place. With the dreamy essence of the gowns, the ocean was a must. They opted to pair the high-fashion vibe along with the brilliant architecture of the Fairmont Kea Lani, which is nestled along the southern coastline of the island. Known for its unique stark-white contrast to the landscape and Mediterranean influence, this spot made the perfect neutral canvas for all the pretty pastel hues to shine through.

When it came to florals, Debbie Hemingway was the obvious choice. Her artistry for romance runs unparalleled and in alignment with what they hoped to feature. Debbie’s keen eye for natural, soft floral elements and high fashion were brilliant! A spectacular floral headdress was also created by Debbie and Linda Herberger of LAH Salon, which when styled with both hair and soft makeup, would add to the high fashion vibe of the editorial.

As the gowns were spectacular within themselves, accessories were kept minimal. The vendor team sought the jewels from a small, quaint family jeweler on the island called Treasure Imports. It is there that they discovered the vintage pieces featured in this shoot – one-of-a-kind treasures, if you will.

On and around the resort, the lovely models frolicked amidst the water lily ponds, in the bamboo garden, near the grand fountain, on the white sandy beach next to the sparkling sea and on the dramatic lava alcoves of Wailea. The architectural curves, stone and stunning art collection at the resort enhanced the look they hoped to accomplish. The magnificence of nature coupled with the airy feeling of the gowns was incredible!
