Lianne and Justin were originally planning to host a quaint, intimate wedding, but decided two weeks before to go all out. These LA natives made the trek to NYC, where the groom is from, to get married at The Library Hotel.

Kim of Chere Rosalie Weddings chose a very classic white and blush palette to work with the mint green walls of the dining room at the Library Inn. Classic details then came together with a modern twist.

Favorite aspects of this wedding included the first look and portraits at Bethesda Fountain & Terrace, the very sweet and emotional speeches from the best man and maid of honor and the bride’s chic Vera Wang gown and Louboutin shoes.

The Wedding Plans

Aiming for a simplistic, intimate vibe, Lianne and Justin opted for only one member of their bridal party each. The guest list totaled 25 people.

The Dress

Lianne got ready in her future mother-in-law’s NYC apartment with epic views of the skyline.

Lianne wore a custom Vera Wang gown with delicate see-through sleeves and a unique LOVE embroidery on the lower back. The dress had black bows and embroidery in the original design. But, as per her mother’s request due to suspicion of bad luck, the black fabric was removed.

The First Look

Lianne & Justin opted for an “intimate” first look in Central Park – their wedding was on a Saturday and one of the hottest days of the year. After wandering the park for portraits, with an umbrella to shield them from the sun, they headed back to The Library Hotel for the rooftop ceremony.

The Ceremony

The flowers remained classic, yet textured, with whites and greens. The ceremony space featured a stunning floral arch with touches of blush and pinks and a stunning view of the New York Public Library.

The Reception

Following an exactly four-minute ceremony (since it was so hot), the guests then went inside for a cocktail hour. The dinner reception took place in the rented restaurant space on the first floor of the hotel. The flowers from the aisle were repurposed for the dining table, which also featured personalized favors and menus. The textured sugar flowers on the cake were a showstopper, as were the comedic speeches from both the best man and maid of honor.

Advice to Other Couples

Hire a full-service planner. Lianne & Justin live in LA, so Justin’s mother-in-law coordinated with Kim from Chere Rosalie Weddings to design and plan the day. Having her there not only allowed the day to run smoothly but also allowed for consistency in design as all the vendors were chosen by the planner for having the same aesthetic and professionalism.
