Netflix is bringing a fresh take on wedding dramas with its new rom-com ‘Mother of the Bride‘, featuring Brooke Shields in a role that’s both relatable and endearing. Shields, known for her roles in ‘The Blue Lagoon' and ‘Suddenly Susan', plays Lana, a mother facing a unique wedding scenario. Her daughter Emma, portrayed by Miranda Cosgrove of ‘School of Rock' and ‘iCarly' fame, returns home with surprising news of her impending wedding in Thailand, and it's happening in just a month.

The plot thickens when Lana learns that Emma’s fiancé is the son of a man from her past. This twist adds a layer of complexity and humor to the already challenging situation of wedding planning.

Joining Shields and Cosgrove is a stellar cast including Benjamin Bratt from ‘Miss Congeniality', Rachael Harris of ‘Suits', Sean Teale from ‘Skins', and Chad Michael Murray of ‘One Tree Hill'. Each actor brings their own charm to this ensemble, promising a mix of heartwarming and humorous moments.

Directed by Mark Waters, known for ‘Mean Girls' and ‘He's All That', and written by Robin Bernheim of the ‘Princess Switch' trilogy, the film offers more than just laughs; it delves into themes of family, past relationships, and the unpredictable nature of love.

‘Mother of the Bride' is set to premiere on Netflix on May 9, 2024. See you on the sofa!
