Heartfelt Tahoe Wedding: Blending Families and Traditions

The couple exchanged vows in the historic Mountain Metro Church, a charming wooden A-frame chapel nestled among towering evergreens. Lush ferns and delicate white florals adorned the warm wooden benches, creating an intimate atmosphere.

The reception, held in a beautiful outdoor space, featured long wooden tables with crisp white linens, elegant place settings, and lush greenery garlands. How They Met

Rosemary and Bill’s story began in the summer of 2014, thanks to a mutual friend who recognized their potential as a couple. Although Rosemary initially declined the introduction, their friend persisted, knowing that Bill’s loving nature and dedication to his children would win Rosemary over. In September, Rosemary felt ready to meet Bill, and their friend arranged for him to call her directly. Bill’s old-fashioned approach of a phone call and dinner invitation, rather than texting, impressed Rosemary and hinted at his special character. Their first date was filled with laughter and conversation and Rosemary remembers thinking “wow, he can actually hold a conversation and he’s super funny!” Despite their busy schedules, they made time to get to know each other over the phone, building a strong foundation for their relationship.

Engagement

Bill had planned a romantic getaway to Carmel in April 2020 to propose to Rosemary, but the COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place orders forced him to change his plans. Struggling with uncertainty and frustration, Bill realized that the perfect moment was already happening – the two of them hunkered down with their four kids. With the help of his daughter Alice, Bill surprised Rosemary with a heartfelt proposal during a family dinner on March 25th. Surrounded by their children’s happy tears, Bill expressed his love and asked Rosemary to marry him. After a brief moment of shock, Rosemary joyfully accepted. To make the moment even more special, Bill presented each child with a gift symbolizing their family of six, solidifying their bond as a blended family.

Wedding Planning

This dreamy setup was brought to life with the help of their dedicated vendors.
