How fun is choosing all the custom, personal details for your wedding day decor? It seems like every element of the modern wedding day can be customized. From super rad neon signage to thoughtful handmade details – we’re constantly spoiled on Bridal Musings with new ideas to personalize your day.

This wedding season we’ve partnered with WeddingWire to share all of our favorite #HowWeWed moments. What is #HowWeWed, you ask? I firmly believe that your wedding should be “absolutely you” and Jack and I are proud to be living that truth as well. Below we’ve rounded up twelve creative ways to personalize your wedding from the blog and even shared our own “HowWeWed” moments to come this November (so exciting!)

Read on and find giveaway details at the end – we can’t wait to see all of your own #HowWedWed ideas!

Personalized Hand Pies

How cute are these mini hand pies?

While finding a local bakery that makes personalized pies may be a stretch, we think these sweet pies could be a pretty easy DIY. Simply create a custom stamp online (perhaps your monogram or a few sweet meaningful words?) and bring it to your local bakery to see in they agree to use the stamp on your own pies.

No luck finding the right bakery? These cuties are so small and rustic-looking we bet employing a savvy baker family member or friend could totally suffice.

Wooden Escort Cards

Oooh, wedding calligraphy comes to life! Laser-cut escort cards look so professional, luxe and whimsical – and perhaps could double as a cake topper? Save yourselves from hours of labeling name cards in cursive and leave it to the professional artists.

Custom Wine Labels

Planning on saving your wedding wine for years to come? Well, there are a few ways to make your wine “wedding capsule” even more personal.

Wine country brides spoiled with plenty of vintners to choose from can inquire locally to which wineries offer any sort of customization – whether that be a custom blend of your favorite grapes or a label featuring your photo and wedding date.

Local Olive Oil Favors

Marrying abroad in a foodie wonderland? Seek out mini (TSA friendly) versions of your favorite treats for guest favors.

Of all the wedding goodies I’ve grabbed over the years, it’s always the local delicacies that are guaranteed to make it all the way home to my cupboard. Consider mini bottles of olive oil, vinegars, and preserves. Or, make it even easier on traveling guests with dried goods like sachets of local herbs, teas, pasta and spices.

Custom Neon Signage

Nothing says “this is our party” like custom neon lights above the aisle and dance floor.

Neon signage is a lavish way to put your stamp on the venue and such a fun keepsake to hang in your home for years to come!

Hand-Illustrated Stationery

Whether you’re a gifted artist yourself (like the bride who illustrated these stunning invites!) or you’ve hired a wonderful stationer, including illustrations of your venue or destination in your invitations is a fabulous way to make your wedding stationery totally personal. From dainty sketches to colorful watercolors, handmade stationery from your wedding destination will be yet another frameable piece of your beautiful day to save forever.

Personalized Bridal Shoes

Searching for a subtle way to customize your wedding-day attire? How about adding a few personalizations to your bridal shoes?

We’ve seen plenty of brides write messages and dates on the soles of their shoes, and others go bold with designs on the front of the shoe itself. This bride had custom Keds embellished and we think they are too cute!

Handmade Paper Flowers

Are you a literary-chic bride? How about adding your favorite written words to your bouquet?

To make a bouquet like the one above, all you need is a few pages from your favorite books or print out for your favorite quotes. Then, it’s time to brush up on your origami skills! Your florist should be able to insert your paper flowers quite simply alongside your fresh blooms for a unique and personalized bouquet.

Homemade Jam

Want my biased opinion? One of my favorite favors of all time is homemade jam.

I think we can all agree that homemade jam is vastly superior to anything bought in the store (it’s probably that secret ingredient: love) and if you have the time, or the team, canning little jars for your friends and family is a massively sufficient “thank you for coming” in my book.

And after you’ve made your wedding-day batch be sure to send any leftovers our way!

Meaningful Aisle Signage

Know a talented calligrapher for hire? Want to make a statement as you walk down the aisle? Choose a favorite quote, split it up into sections and with some expert calligraphy skills you have bold and meaningful aisle markers to dress up your ceremony space for that big moment.

Custom Temporary Tattoos

Looking for a hip and trendy favor that won’t need to be wheeled in on crates? Consider creating your own custom temporary tattoos. Big kids (you know, us) and little kids will have too good a time – I can picture now a portrait of Jack and I kissing on say, my mother’s neck? All jokes aside, it’s such a cute gift your friends can sport at the wedding, after the wedding, who cares they’re so fun!

Papel Picado

So hour are we personalizing our Mexico wedding? Rather than invites, we created custom travel guides for our wedding destination, we’ll be writing our own vows for our ceremony and for the decor we’re shopping for custom papel picado to hang at our various parties.

A classic piece of Mexican decor, papel picado is quite inexpensive to order with your names and wedding date – I like that while it’s custom banners, the names blend in with the style and the decor looks “authentic” to the region.
