This whimsical pink wedding dress will make you reconsider wearing white

Oooh, do we have a dreamy shoot for you! Strolling down the colonial wonderland of Antigua, Guatemala, one would be lucky to find this whimsical pink bridal inspiration filled with succulents, candles and ever-so-romantic details.

We first spotted this dream scene from LeeYen Photography on Instagram, satisfying our ever-growing need for colorful wedding dresses (find our list of subtly colored Etsy wedding dresses here) & cascading bougainvillea. When the team sent through the entire editorial we were enchanted. Not only was the bridal look so unique with the white long sleeves and pink tulle skirt, but the tablescape and florals were also so on trend!

Fitting airplants into the bouquet and light blue silk ribbons, the florals bloomed in blush and green. The table decor too matched the whimsical, light-toned scene with romantic powder blue candles and antique china – to match the colonial space.

Charmed by so many details (that floral engagement ring!) we find the custom, calligraphy drink stirrers the cherry on top of an already creative wedding scene.

When I saw the dress from J. Noelle Design by Jessica I felt inspired to use soft colors mixed with subtle wild and romantic touches. The bouquet was designed around an air plant and featured spray roses, pink torch ginger, some wild elements including onion flowers. The ruins of Santa Clara have a hauntingly beautiful texture. The colonial architecture has withstood the test of time and I hope that each couple saying I do here will remember that on their wedding day and throughout their marriage.

A tuc tuc is the best way to get around the cobblestone streets of Antigua and is such an iconic item. We can’t think of a more fun way for a bride to go meet her groom or to exit a wedding reception. We hope that couples will consider that when planning their wedding in Antigua, Guatemala. Keeping it simple, I added a garland of dry branches to complement the unique colored walls and bougainvillea of Antigua. That simple intertwined look was then repeated on the table with twigs curled around the plates. Blue isn’t used enough in wedding decor so we enjoyed adding that using candles.

Antigua, Guatemala is such a unique city filled with beautiful wedding venues. Guatemala itself is known as the “eternal spring” with the perfect weather all year long with everything from colonial cities, beautiful lakes and even active volcanoes. We sure hope that more engaged couples will consider our country as a destination for their wedding or their honeymoon. We have no doubt that they will fall in love with our colorful culture and people.
