It may be grey and gloomy here* but this unique, bright and beautiful wedding is bringing the sunshine today, my friends!

In the words of photographer, Mike Arick:

This is what happens when two graphic designers tie the knot in Palm Springs.

Tiffany and Mark of pprwrk studio designed their whole wedding around their wedding date. Nine. Ten. Eleven. Amazing right? The reception venue, The Movie Colony Hotel with it's desert modernism feel, fit perfectly with all their graphic elements. In fact, there are so many creative, typographic details that I don't even know where to start so I'll pass you over to the groom.

All I'll say is watch out for the huge, floating cutout in the pool that spells out “LOVE IS…”

From the groom…

My beautiful wife and I were married on 09.10.11 in Palm Springs and it was fantastic. Choosing Nine.Ten.Eleven. as we would refer to it, became the general theme for the event. The location choice – Palm Springs,CA – gave us inspiration for our bright yellow color palette and the wedding title “A Celebration in the Desert”. We are both graphic designers so we created a bunch of fun stuff to go along with the ceremony and reception. The love was definitely in the details – including a custom monogram, waterjet cut invitations, photo album, balloon design, hand screenprinted placemats + aisle runner, program and ceremony signage.

Wow. Such an incredible combination of creativity, sleek, modern design and stunning photos by Mike Arick Photography.

Stay tuned for Part 2 which is coming to a screen near you tomorrow.

Any typography fans out there positively loving all the details? How about any brides opting for a bright, modern colour scheme?

*I think the London weather followed us to California.
