Ever since featuring this incredible Palm Springs wedding, I'm obsessed with the place.
I love the thought of eloping to the desert (and where better than the fabulous ACE Hotel?) then having a party with friends and family back home. It's so darn rock n roll…and romantic.
This 1960s, Mod style elopement shoot co-ordinated and styled by Enamor Events and shot by Infiniti Foto is vibrant, funky, colourful and positively retro fabulous! I'm in love.
Prepared to be inspired by 60s mini wedding dresses, big hair, bright blooms, blue soled shoes, an incredible DIY fan backdrop and quite possibly the best ‘Do Not Disturb sign' ever.
Such a fun concept! I'm loving the 60s vibe and that colourful, graphic fan backdrop would be perfect as a ceremony or photobooth backdrop don't you think?

When I was dreaming up the details of this shoot, the words that kept coming to mind were: vibrant & FUNky. I adore characteristics of many eras of vintage and I knew I wanted something different then shabby chic. I thought a fresh interpretation of the mod style of the 60's would be a brilliant fusion for a desert elopement!
Remember those retro blankets grandma used to crochet? Our turquoise-orange-lime green blanket was the color inspiration for this shoot. I was super excited when I found this authentic 60's wedding dress on ebay. Then I found the yellow shift dress and thought it would be sweet for the bride to change into a second dress! It was 97 degrees in Palm Springs that day and our groom sported short sleeves with a vest and slacks. In true 60's fashion, he wore a skinny tie (yes, they were in back then!) and later changed into an ascot to complete his casually dapper look. Oftentimes brides are the ones who get to rock fun heels. Check out our groom's “something blue” soled kicks!
A lovely day under the sun called for ice cream instead of cake, which tied in the lyrics on the invitation “I'll stop the world and melt with you.” Invitations were crafted using a doily on natural paper and the psychedelic pattern was filled in by hand using sharpies. Our dessert (macarons) topper ended up being slightly oversized so it became the perfect statement prop- “we do!” Being a mini-getaway, vintage luggage was a must and the luggage tag read perfectly “Let's go on an adventure!”
Although this was a styled shoot, I wanted to incorporate simple yet thoughtful details that any vintage loving or non-traditional bride could easily implement herself and be inspired by!
