During the planning stages, have you ever seen a wedding on a blog or in a magazine and thought ‘That's my wedding!'

It's amazing when you see that another couple, who you've never met, shares such a similar style and aesthetic to you.

Of course there are lots of differences as well, no two weddings are ever the same ~ that's the joy of weddings, each couple and each wedding is so unique. But I can't help but wonder if we all have a ‘wedding twin' somewhere out there. If so, mine would be Nikki and Simon's wedding.

Oh how I love it so!

Prepare for roses and romance, a beautiful bride in an elegant lace gown, a handsom groom in a sharp suit, bridesmaids in blush pink, pleated chiffon, mercuried silver, a historic English venue with manicured gardens, the warm glow of candle light and timeless photography by Hannah of Funky Photographers.

We even had the same photographer, how Twinsville is that?!

Nicki shares a little more about their day:

We wanted to go for quite a traditional, pretty countryside wedding with vintage touches such as the lace dress.  We wanted a romantic feel which was created by the masses of candles and pastel pink and cream flowers.

My bouquet was made up of roses, lisianthus, hydrangeas in pinks and creams. The bridesmaid bouquets were white hydrangea and the centerpieces were made up of a mix of roses and hydrangea.

Classic, Elegant Bridal Style

The ‘dress’ was an ivory lace slim fitting Lusan Mandongus dress.  We added the straps out of the same top layer of lace.  I loved it.

The groom and groomsmen wore black Kenneth Cole slim fit suits with white shirts and pale pink ties from reiss.

The bridesmaids wore pale pink dresses from Kaliko that flattered everyone (we had 2 pregnant bridesmaids), pale pink Kurt Geiger heals and jewellery from swarovski.

The Wedding Music

Processional was Pachabel’s Cannon in D (Strings)

Recessional was Take That greatest day of our lives (Strings). One of the members of the strings used to play in Take That’s orchestra.

First dance was Train – Hey soul sister (band)

The Photography

I chose Funky Photographers because I have worked with Hannah at work events and knew how absolutely amazing she is at her job.  She had also done a colleagues wedding and we loved the photos. We love every single picture from our day that she took.  She has an amazing ability to catch the perfect light and background in every shot.

Absolutely beautiful.

I especially love their table plan ~ real roses attached to simple sheets of paper look so romantic, don't you think?

Nicki's Favourite Moment + Advice For Other Brides

My favourite point of the day was when the outside dancing kicked off and everyone got involved. My advice to other brides is to stay calm.  The only person that can add stress to your day is you if you let things bother you.  It is amazing fun.

Wise words indeed. Congratulations Nicki and Simon! Thank you for sharing your special day with us. Thanks also to the lovely Hannah of Funky Photographers.
