A couple of weeks ago I shared some of the beautiful dresses and accessories from Matthew Williamson's new bridal collection. Click here to see my top picks.
Well…last Thursday 17th March, I went to the Matthew Williamson Bridal Trunk Show and if you check out my Bridal Musing's Facebook page you'd know I was rather nervous about attending!
But I needn't have been. It was a fantastic evening and I met some truly lovely people. Including other wedding bloggers whose blogs I absolutely adore! {Excuse me while I name drop} including Amma from Beyond Beyond, Charley from London Bride, Alexis from OMG I'm Getting Married and Kat from RocknRoll Bride!
I also got to meet the very talented Juliet McKee from Sugar & Spice Photography, who was the official photographer for the show, and she has kindly agreed to let me share some of her photos from the evening.
Here's a few things you need to know about the event:
♥ The Matthew Williamson store is a glamourous and eclectic mix of an 80s Cocktail Bar with lots of pink neon lighting, a magical jungle adorned with an untouchable bridal gown within a glass case, art deco mirrors, intricate, bejewelled wallpaper, silver stag heads, wall to wall mirrored dressing-rooms, and iconic famous faces and image clippings from magazines plastered all over some of the walls!
♥ Wild About created the incredibly beautiful floral arrangements and bouquets which were dotted around the store.
♥ We nibbled on darling little cupcakes from Peggy Porschen which had the most amazing butter cream icing on top…seriously yummy! As well as baby pink bows on cocktail sticks! {A do-able and very chic DIY idea if ever I saw one.}
♥ Matthew Williamson's dresses look even more beautiful up close and floating down the shop floor!
♥ The Black Swan esque feathered short number was a hit with the bloggers but the star of the show was….the Parachute Gown.
♥ The parachute gown gliding along the shop floor drew many gasps of breath and lots of ooohs and ahhhs ensued. The model commanded the attention of all eyes in the room as we were absolutely mesmerized by the billowing fabric. {A very modern and beautiful alternative to a traditional cathedral veil.}
♥ The models looked absolutely flawless in their natural Bobbi Brown make up with a hint of grey eyeliner and their sophisticated up-dos. The lovely {and very beautiful} naturally made up girls from Bobbi Brown told us all about Bobbi Brown's bridal make up tutorials {which actually inspired my latest Sunday Beauty School post!}
♥ The goody bag was indeed good…and included the latest edition of Brides Magazine, Cowshed bath/shower gel, a healthy and wholesome fruit & nut snack mix from Babington House and lots of information on the other fabulous sponsors of the event: Bobbi Brown, Wild About Flowers, Luscombe, Apres, Michael Van Clark Peggy Porchen and Paul Antonio.
A Lesson Learned: Don't judge a book by it's swanky cover. Brides if you feel like I did {worried about what to wear and how you'll be treated at such a swanky, high end designer store} I can assure you, you'll be treated like an absolute bridal princess by the wonderful team at Matthew Williamson!
Special thanks to Fong Ee, the account executive at Matthew Williamson, for inviting me to attend this chic event. If you'd like to find out more about Matthew Williamson's bridal range or to arrange an apppointment, visit the website.
Huge thanks to Juliet for sharing her gorgeous photos. Please visit her Sugar & Spice Photography website to find out more and visit her blog for her latest shoots. {Brides, you'll want to visit her site, she's a wonderful wedding photographer too!}
{If you'd like more gossip from the show: Alexis from OMG I'm Getting Married wrote a fabulous report of the event-check it out here and Charley from London Bride wrote a detailed fashion write up about the bridal range here.}
