And the best thing about barn wedding venues, is that wherever you are on the planet, as long as you're in reach of some farmland, you're probably close to some beautiful barns as well.

Santa Lucia Preserve is a gorgeous, versatile barn in Carmel, California, with stunning grounds for al fresco ceremonies, cocktail hours and lawn games. Home to some of our favourite Californian weddings we've spotted on Stateside blogs, this is one show-stopping wedding venue.
The Preserve itself is a private group of estates set over 20,000 acres of rolling coastal foothills, while the barn is available to members of the Preserves' Ranch Club for weddings and events. Epic and grand, yet rustic and charming, the barn at Santa Lucia is an easy addition to our list of the best barn venues in the world.
Tarureka Estate, Wairarapa, New Zealand

A beautiful blue barn with a gorgeous interior, set in the eight acre Tarureka Estate, in Wairarapa, New Zealand – just one hour north of Wellington. Historic houses on the property include a seven bedroom homestead and a three bedroom cottage making for homely on-site accommodation.
The barn itself is lovingly restored with a chapel and banquet area upstairs and bar and dance floor below. With room for 120 people and wood fires to keep you toasty at night or in winter, this relaxed and cosy setting (under a very starry night sky) is a dreamy spot for a New Zealand barn wedding.
Preston Court, Kent, England

A 17th century Kentish barn, near Canterbury, England, Preston Court is perhaps one of the prettiest and most iconic barn venues in the UK. Whimsical, beautiful and utterly unique, the traditional barn is home to some stunning fairground organs, with the choice of a vintage carousel outside to match.
This epic venue can hold up to 120 for dinner, with a variety of catering options and table set-ups. The wider estate is home to a pretty stone church, and an atmospheric island garden for outdoor weddings. If you're looking for a barn venue in England with wow factor, this is probably, The One.
Sagewood Farm, Ontario, Canada

Sagewood Farm is a painstakingly renovated barn venue in Ontario, Canada. Seriously, take a look at the before pictures, a lot of love and hard work has gone into this space.
A family-run farm within an hour of Toronto, the sage green exterior makes for pretty shots, while the interior is a bank canvas for fairy lights, pom poms, lanterns or blooms. Large side doors mean plenty of natural light can fill the venue, while chandeliers hanging overhead add an opulent touch to the shabby chic vibe of the furnishings.
Riverdale Barn, Craigavon, Northern Ireland

A big red barn, with traditional stonework, in a gorgeous Northern Irish setting, Riverdale Barn is a unique wedding venue with room for up to 140 guests.
With an idillic setting near the shores of Lough Neagh, this venue is filled with photo ops, from stepping stones over the river, to dramatic shots by the nearby mill. Just 20 miles from Belfast, it's highly accessible, offering a beautiful and versatile backdrop for an Irish wedding with a twist.
Villa Catureglio, Tuscany, Italy

Set on the fabulous, Villa Catureglio estate, more of an outdoor ceremony and reception venue, the cool stone barn provides a shaded spot on hot days, and a retreat for the evening once the sun's gone in.
Filled with mis-matched furniture, and carpeting, this Italian barn, feels more like a rustic living room than a barn wedding venue, and filled with candlelight, it's the perfect location for intimate gatherings into the night.

A cool corrugated structure, The Barn Wallington, is a stylish backdrop for laid-back Aussie weddings. A blank canvas, hidden amongst sky-scraping and fragrant Blue Gum Eucalyptus trees, The Barn can be used for both exterior and interior styling.
From hay bales and wine barrels to chandeliers and fairy lights, this refined, rustic setting is a gorgeous place to let your hair down, let your imagination run wild, and let 150 of your closest friends and family party in style.
The House Meadow, Kent, England

Romantic, and intimate, this English wedding venue has been featured on Bridal Musings a few times before and we just love it. Located on a real working farm, The House Meadow offers couples versatile wedding packages, with a gazebo, marquee, and of course, the Horseshoe Barn to choose from.
A compact barn wedding venue, with a capacity for 70 for dinner, this one is perfect for smaller parties, and is at its best when drenched in candlelight and filled with people. This 17th century, oak beam barn oozes rustic charm and casual elegance.

We first spotted this Lisburn, Northern Ireland, wedding venue on the Instagram of wedding stylist Alise Taggart, and we were drawn in by its white wash walls and cosy atmosphere.
Pale tones make for a more sophisticated setting than many other barn venues, however, we've also seen this one decked out in fresh flowers and tapered candles, making it a versatile choice whether you're plotting a posh party or a rustic knees-up. With sofas, fairylights, trees and draping throughout, this 1860s barn is a charming setting for an Irish wedding.

At 32 feet wide and 100 feet long, Rubies & Rust Barn in Minnesota is a sprawling shabby chic haven, with mis-matched decor and furniture, that makes for atmospheric and laid-back wedding venue.
Looking more like an upturned ship than a barn from the inside, this Twin Cities area wedding venue has a rather magical feel, with crystal chandeliers and a cathedral-like ceiling. Cosy, inviting, unique, and authentically rustic.
