Hello lovely readers – we hope your weekend is going well so far?

We just had to pop online this morning to fill you in on our escapades last night at Wedding Magazine's Wedding Blog Awards which were held in the iconic Savoy hotel, London.

We wouldn't have got there without YOU and your nominations. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Claire and Elizabeth (our first official Team BM night out!)

Alas, we didn't win our category (HUGE congratulations to the team at Love My Dress!) but we did have a whole lot of fun getting glammed up and meeting/catching up with some of our favourite wedding bloggers.

Claire was so excited to meet some fellow Dubliners (if there's two sets of Irish people in a room, they will ALWAYS find each other!) Naoise and Susan of One Fab Day, Elizabeth was elated to see Monique from French Wedding Style (who we were surprised to realise, isn't actually French!) and we both cooed over Alexandra from Bijou Bride‘s gorgeous Katya Katya Shehurina dress.

The awards were presented by the (rather hilarious) Mark Vandelli of Made in Chelsea, Champagne flowed, (like seriously flowed!), the canapés were delicious, there was an amazing cake from the acclaimed folks at Choccywoccydoodah, and lots of fun was had in the photobooth.

Plus we got to catch up with luxury wedding planner, judge and all round lovely guy, Bruce Russell. (If you missed his awesome wedding planning tips, check them out here!)

Among the winners on the night were the amazing (friend of Bridal Musings!) Louise of B.Loved who won the prestigious Editor's Choice Award, the ever-alt Kat of RocknRoll Bride, who fittingly won, Best Alternative Blog, the gorgeous Jess & Emily of Bespoke Bride who won best DIY Wedding Blog, and the ridiculously talented Nova of Nu Bride who won Best Big Day Inspiration.

Nova gave the most amazing speech about bringing diversity to the wedding industry, and how it's so hard for some brides to find inspiration from women who look like them.

This is something we've been talking a lot about in BM HQ lately, and something we're going to work really hard on improving over the coming months. So a massive congratulations to Nova for really championing this issue, and bringing much-needed diversity to the wedding blogosphere!

We'll have lots more images to share with you guys soon, but we just wanted to let you know how we got on, and send a massive thank you to the sweet team at Wedding Magazine for having us along to the stunning Savoy last night. There was also a rather lovely, treat filled goody bag too!

Pretty adornments – though The Savoy really needs no decoration!

And of course, we need to thank you guys, our utterly awesome, amazing, wonderful readers who voted for us, who bigged us up on social media, and who continue to read our musings on a daily basis.

You guys rock!
