This morning we shared Chloe and Matthew's romantic beach engagement shoot by the wonderful Toby Mitchell Photography.
And this afternoon, we're so excited to show you guys the next chapter of their love story, their beautiful wedding day in Priston Mill, near Bath in England.
Gorgeous getting ready shots of the girls (all was not so calm over in the boys' HQ!), a special church ceremony (this pair met in church!) and some stunning meadow portraits, before partying the night away in their charming rustic wedding venue.
Chloe and Matthew describe their wedding day as “Dreamy, beautiful and oh-so-joyous.”
We're inclined to agree…
The Morning of the Wedding
The masterminds behind the big day were always going to be Chloe, the bride, and the mothers, Jenny and Kathryn. Naturally this lead to a slightly feminine theme throughout the day which the groom gracefully accepted, provided the costs weren’t unreasonable.
The day began on two different sides of a coin as the bridal party had the perfectly smooth and enjoyable start to what was to be a special day. They gathered at a family friend's house where Chloe put on her lacy, corseted and ivory strapless gown.
The flower girls wore their vintage ivory dresses while the four adult bridesmaids set the colour theme with their long pale pink bridesmaid’s dresses. The second star of the day was Chloe’s one and a half year old niece who obviously played her part!
Meanwhile, the groom was ungracefully woken up by a panicked groomsmen announcing that Tim, the best man and brother to Matt, was locked in the downstairs toilet.
Nearly an hour later and while in the process of giving address details to the fire brigade, one of the ushers – a joiner – finally managed to get the best man out of there while still getting the groom to the church on time.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was the most important part of the day for us.
Chloe walked into the calming piece by Einaudi ,’I Giorni’, while the groom stared longingly at her. We sang worship songs and heard great passages from the Bible on love.
As the ceremony came to a close and the wedding bells rang the bride and groom finally made it through the confetti line and on to the venue in an extremely old vintage car.
The Photography
Toby Mitchell was the obvious and easy choice for our photographer. He is a great friend of ours through church and he has proved to have FAR more experience, professionalism and skill in photography than he should have for his age (19).
It was great to have a friend shoot every moment of the day as it was very easy to shout out ‘Toby!’ to get a quick shot.
The Venue
Priston Mill is a beautiful barn set in the country and, thanks to prior preparation, was very well decorated. 100m of white and pink bunting was laid in the ‘chill-out’ area and there were candles in any crack in the wall available.
The tables had a large candelabra as the centre piece with sweet small glass bottles wrapped in lace surrounding it. These were the favours for the ladies.
Many ideas were taken from Pinterest for these decorations and fortunately Chloe had four weeks of school summer holidays before the wedding to be able to make many cute extras.
Guests were welcomed with Bucks fizz or elderflower in the sunshine. After the classic photos, as well as some fun bridal party ones, were taken the food was served which was phenomenal!
Without going into too much detail it was some of the best food we have tasted so that went down a treat. The speeches had the perfect mix of humour and emotion – each one could not have been better suited.
The Evening
For the evening we had a band play that we are friends with and they nailed it. They are a funk / soul band who did covers for some great classics.
The first dance was ‘Thinking out loud’ by Ed Sheeran.
The evening was a true party and so many joined in.
