The first two words that came to mind when we first clapped eyes on the achingly glamorous Starlet S/S 2015 collection by Johanna Johnson.
With the most divine satin textures, pewter and ivory tones, flapper styling, textured detailing and bold vintage designs, this collection harks back to the twenties, setting it apart from the rest of this year’s Bridal Fashion Week collections.
The aptly-named Starlet collection is filled with stunning silk slips, beaded dropped waists, beautiful jewels, and elegant furs. We’re so happy to see Gatsby style make its return to the catwalks.
Here’s what the team at Johanna Johnson had to say about the Starlet Collection.
Australian fashion designer Johanna Johnson played host to a packed crowd of fashionistas at the private club Parlor.
The collection showcased decadent, hand beaded embellishments through to timeless, elegant gowns. Featuring deep vintage ivory satins, muted tones of Wedgewood blue, and unexpected statements of French navy and scarlet throughout.
Starlet is a decadent nod to the sirens of Hollywood, the art of heirloom dressing, and the elegance of bygone days.
Johanna Johnson on her Bridal Week Show
It was our pleasure to present another evening of decadence in New York City.
This Starlet collection is a detailed approach to unrestrained luxury, with a modern take on contemporary bridal.
Another wonderful Autumn evening in the city that never sleeps.
Now get your Pin It finger ready, and feast your eyes on these glamorous gowns…
Decadent, glamorous, and oh-so-beautiful. These are really styled up for the show, but stripped-back with long hair or a simple upstyle and minimal accessories, they could look really simple and elegant.
The slip dresses would look so pretty with flower crowns at a summer wedding too.
