I'm starting a new feature today, called ‘Wedding Geekery'.
After all, they say write about what you know!
So every Wednesday I'll be sharing something geeky with you guys to inspire you and/or help you with your wedding planning.
It could be a wedding-related website, online tool, smart phone app, gadget or even a helpful blog for you to check out.
Weddington Way
Today it's the fabulous Weddington Way
Here's the blurb:
Weddington Way is an online boutique dedicated to making bridesmaid dress shopping fun and easy for brides and their bridesmaids.
We offer brides an easy solution to coordinate with their bridesmaids in a way that streamlines the dress selection process.
Often brides and their bridesmaids are busy and scattered around the world – on WeddingtonWay.com they are able to come together to shop, share ideas and easily complete the dress purchase!
It's easy to get started with a super quick registration process and invites are sent to your bridesmaids simply by entering their names and email addresses.
There are a number of fabulous features:
♥ Search for dresses by price range, colour, length, neckline or designer {they stock some of the top bridesmaids dress designers including Dessy, Lela Rose and Alfred Sung.}
♥ Save your favourites to your favourites page.
♥ Drag and rop your favourite dress styles into a line, compare them and rank them according to how much you like them.
♥ Your bridesmaids can each sign up then you can easily share your favourites with them. They also have a drag and drop, compare and rank option.
♥ An optional social page in which you can write a little about each of your bridesmaids, where they can see each other's names and how you met etc.
♥ Order online. Weddington Way provides the option for the bride or bridesmaid to purchase each dress ~ which is a great option for brides who ask their bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses BUT they have also put in place a system where the bride has the final say on all the dresses that are purchased {so no risk of naughty bridesmaids purchasing their preferred dress over yours!}
Pros:
From my own personal experience of bridesmaids dress shopping, with bridesmaids who were based in Dublin, Greece and the outskirts of Essex {while I was in London!} Weddington Way would have saved a whole load of emailing photos/links to websites back and forth!
I love that you can see the dresses alongside each other and compare them and that you and your bridesmaids have one place to go to to browse and buy.
Cons:
I don't know how comfortable I'd be buying bridesmaids dresses online, especially as they are notoriously weirdly sized. I had 5 bridesmaids, each measured in a specialist bridesmaids shop but each dress still needed to be altered! However, there are detailed instructions on sizing and taking measurements on Weddington Way that can help you with this.
{If you were also concerned about buying online you could always use Weddington Way as a tool to help you share and choose your top styles, then ask your bridesmaids to try them on in their local stockist.}
I think Weddington Way is a fantastic, easy to use resource for brides and their maids.
I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Anyone had good/bad experience of buying bridesmaids dresses online?
