The perfect combination of classical and desirable, the Spring/Summer 2015 collection is inspired by the unforgettable screen legends of Film Noir and the eternal femme fatale.
In her journey of inspiration for the new spring bridal collection, Lihi Hod has crafted her own take on Hollywood’s golden age, a return to the 1940s with its legendary stars such as Rita Hayworth and Lauren Bacall.
“I found myself gravitating towards the glamorous and dramatic decade of Film Noir,” says Hod, “to the right blend the time offered of contemporary fashion and an eternal, classical femininity. Like in those movies, my collection highlights the image of a woman who is an eternal femme fatale: delicate and refined, yet powerful and impressive.”
With this inspiration, the collection combines desirable, sexy appeal with the elegance characteristic of 1940s and 1950s fashion, in a variety of items that together form a precise and timeless ensemble.
The unique look is heightened by a textile and textural richness combining lace, embroidery and pearl beading, as well as a play on chiaroscuro and translucency.
Hod’s distinct signature and her rich experience in the Paris couture world are reflected in this collection.
It is characterized by draping techniques, an impressive play on volumes, use of the finest silkscut on the bias and voluminous pleats and patterns to highlight and compliment the feminine silhouette.
A closer look at the gowns reveals not only the couture techniques employed to create them but also the profound design thought invested in their every tiny detail.
