So if you follow us on social media, you’ll know that we spent much of last week Periscoping from fashion shows, Instagraming with designers, and Facebooking all things wedding day style, at NYC Bridal Fashion Week.
All this week, we’ll be sharing our very favourite runway shows, and we thought, how better to start off the run, than with one of the most exciting collections of Bridal Market.
Alon Livné White is the bridal offshoot by acclaimed couture designer Alon Livné.
An Israeli designer, with a loyal celebrity following (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Iggy Azalea, Ellie Goulding, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Naomi Campbell, and Janelle Monae are all fans!), Livné adapts his signature structured, luxurious style to wedding gowns, and the results, are pretty spectacular.
As his debut runway show in NYC, we weren’t sure what to expect.
But sitting alongside some of the biggest fashion and bridal industry insiders in the world, in the beautiful Highline Hotel in Chelsea, we were treated to a showcase of fluffy ostrich feathers, ornate lacework, intricate beading and romantic silhouettes.
Incorporating some of the biggest trends of the year (sheer panels and ballgown skirts) with details that are utterly unique and innovative, we’re pretty elated to be sharing this exciting collection!
Scroll down for the amazing gowns, but first up, read a little from Alon Livné himself on the collection…
About the Collection
The 2016 collection seeks out the perfect balance between femininity, sensuality, and elegance.
I drew inspiration from the 19th century world of Russian ballet, accentuating the delicacy and precision of the dancer amidst all her glamour.
I interpreted the noble image of the swan, the icon of the world of ballet, as a source of softness juxtaposed with power, reflected in the delicate embroideries and hand-picked lace.
Infinitely beautiful, each gown is adorned with pearls, precious beads, and Swarovski stones.
The collection is comprised of 38 gowns which share feminine cuts that hug the body, stunning trains, meticulous handwork, and superb fabrics of uncompromising quality.
Aren’t they just stunning? And they look even more show-stopping in the flesh!
I love that they have a cool, fashion forward aesthetic that you don’t always get in bridal, but are still so ornate and romantic too. I love the hair styling too (you can steal the look with this fab bun holder on ASOS!)
