As we continue to share our favourite collections from New York Bridal Fashion Week, today we're gushing over dresses from a designer who always gets a lot of love from Bridal Musings readers.
The ever-elegant, ever-ornate, and ever-beautiful, Claire Pettibone wedding dresses.
A designer with a penchant for florals, a passion for embellishment and a leaning for all things romantic.
As we sat on gold chiavari chairs, sipping Moët & Chandon Champagne, in the stunning Prince George Ballroom, it was the perfect setting at Bridal Market to take in The Gilded Age – new collection of vintage-inspired wedding dresses, each more intricately designed than the last.
With touches of pink, blue, green and metallics throughout, giving a fresh twist on classic styles, Claire Pettibone fused her signature floral embroidery and baroque textures, with dresses that were even more stylised and lavish than previous collections.
Let's hear more from designer Claire Pettibone herself, about The Gilded Age, (we think you're going to love it!)
About the Collection
A time of opulence, exuberance, decadence and extravagance.
Diamonds, pearls and gold in all its lovely hues. Precious silks, laces and embroideries are sure to feel right at home in the grandest salon.
Encompassing the imagination and artistry of a bygone era, alluding to a dream world where beauty reigns. The aesthetic is always feminine and decidedly romantic.
Welcome to the Gilded Age.
Aren't those dresses just beautiful? Definitely gowns for a bride with a love of vintage fashion, but they could be styled to look really fresh and modern too. Everyone at the show was talking about the hair styling too, it was such a gorgeous fit for the dresses!
Claire Pettibone wedding dresses are priced from $3800 (£2500). For more information on stockists and styles, visit the Claire Pettibone website.
