Oh Etsy, how I love thee!
Claire here, and as some of you might know, I'm currently in full wedding planning mode. The florist is booked, the band are confirmed, and the menu has been decided on.
So now, my fiance and I are on to the fun stuff, the small favours, the quirky touches, the cool decor and my favourite, the bridal accessories!
So, as you can imagine, I've been spending a whole lot of time on Etsy.
If you're not already an Etsy addict, you're about to be (and I'm not even sorry!).
Etsy is an online marketplace for artisans, crafters and DIY suppliers to sell their wares, and it's brimming with gorgeous buys for your wedding day.
I've been a fan of Etsy for gift and craft supply shopping for years now, (my fiance even bought my engagement ring on Etsy!), so it was pretty inevitable that it would be a go-to for wedding ideas too.
(I'm not going to lie, I'd been adding wedding decor, stationery, and bridal accessories to my Etsy ‘favourites' list for years!)
You can choose to shop locally (I love ordering from Etsy's UK sellers for faster shipping and no added tax!), and know that you're using some of your wedding budget to support small businesses and local artisans.
But what I love most about using Etsy for our wedding (aside from the awesome products and offbeat ideas) is that it's so easy to order unique, bespoke, creative touches for your wedding, without lots of time spent waiting on quotes, confirming orders, or viewing samples.
With reviews right there, customisable options available, and an easy way to contact vendors with your questions, it's so straight forward. And if you're anything like me (with an unending wedding to-do list), you'll know that there's nothing more satisfying than putting a giant red tick on your list.
So, if you'd like to press on with some wedding details (and have them ordered before you finish your lunch break!), we've put together a list of 10 of our favourite wedding products from Etsy that will add serious style to your day…
1. Send-Off Sparklers
I've said it before, but I'm pretty obsessed with sparklers at weddings. They make the most lovely pictures, and can create such a fun send-off for the couple or add a little magic as they take to the floor for their first dance.
The only problem is, unlit sparklers can often look a little ugly, especially if you're leaving them on your tables for your guests. Which it why I just love these cool gold sparklers in pretty brown boxes from Etsy shop, Wedding Box What Nots.
A chic, easy and budget friendly way to create a real moment on your wedding day.
2. Pretty Pom Poms
If you're looking to add an instant touch of playfulness and whimsy to your wedding venue, then we've found just the thing!
Pompom Blossom is a shop on Etsy that creates these giant hand-dyed paper flowers, that would be perfect for a top table, photo booth or ceremony backdrop, or hung from the ceiling of a marquee.
While pom pom decor is still really popular, these blooms are twist on the trend, adding texture and romance to any space.
3. Groomsman Gifts
Bridal party gifts are often something that get left to the very last minute (especially groomsman gifts!). So avoid doing a last minute dash to buy cufflinks or whiskey the week of your wedding, and pick up something altogether cooler instead.
We love these beard oils and colognes from Ravenscourt Apothecary, not only are they rather dapper, but they're cruelty free and handmade too.
4. Elegant Edibles
Ever since I tasted my very first macaroon, I've been in love. Soft, chewy and delicious, but small enough to eat, while still looking ladylike! And they're pretty too.
Macaroons make a smart addition to your dessert table, as a wedding favour, or a sweet adornment at a bridal shower place setting.
If you're looking to add some refinement and elegance to your wedding (without blowing the budget entirely), I reckon these chic macaroons from La Dinette on Etsy are just the way to do it.
5. Top of the Toppers
Cake toppers are cool! While we're big fans of an elaborate wedding cake, and all the time and craftsmanship that goes into one, there's no denying they are often a surprisingly large expense in your wedding budget.
If you want your cake to make a big impact (without making a big dent in your savings) why not forgo the fancy bake and splash out on a fancy topper to adorn a plain store-bought cake instead?
We just love these bright personalised cake toppers from Miss Sarah Cake on Etsy.
6. Custom Vows Prints
These were too sweet not to share! Whether you use them on your wedding day or display them in your home, we just love the idea of immortalising your wedding vows in print.
These custom prints by Luna Haze Design (who also sell gorgeous art prints!) make the loveliest keepsakes, and would be a good excuse to get your vows prepped in advance (there's nothing worse than last-minute stress over what you're going to say!).
Plus they're printable at home, so they couldn't be easier to make as a last minute wedding gift too.
7. Luxe Hair Accessories
If you're a regular reader of Bridal Musings, you'll know we're big fans of Feather & Coal hair accessories, so we were pretty delighted when we found they're stocked on Etsy.
Not only are their bridal headpieces unique and beautiful, but they're also an example of how Etsy wares aren't all crafty or DIY-looking, they can also be really stylish and luxe too.
8. Wedding Stationery
Ordering your wedding stationery often takes way longer than you expect it to, but by using Etsy, there are systems in place that make it as smooth as possible (clear pricing, lead times and colour options), while still giving you room to put your own stamp on it, and proof everything before it goes to print.
The Lovely Drawer is an Etsy stationer we adore, with a vast selection of designs that range from rustic and sweet to bright and modern, all with luxe finishes and hand-crafted details.
If you want beautiful stationery, with a bespoke feel (that doesn't take all the effort that usually goes into getting something custom-made), Etsy is certainly the place to find it.
9. Bold Balloons
We've featured a few real weddings with gold balloons over the last few months, and they always look like the most fun parties!
If you're worried about your day lacking a celebratory vibe, these bright, punchy balloons will give your bash some instant cool. Check out the array on offer from Inspired Company 4U on Etsy.
10. The Wedding Dress of Your Dreams
Etsy might not be the first place you think of for your wedding dress search, but lots of established bridal brands started on the site, so if you're looking for something truly unusual, make it one of the first places you look.
Gibson Bespoke is one of our all-time favourite shops on Etsy, they've got ornate accessories, dreamy veils, and best of all, glorious gowns (that are chic enough to have been featured in Vogue!).
Just imagine, you might just find your dream wedding dress in a couple of clicks!
So many cool buys, right? I just love how quickly you could sort out everything from the little details, to the big deals (like your wedding dress!) all on one site.
Right, I'm off to tick sparklers, a wedding veil and the dessert table decor off my list!
