We can't get enough of Jess and Jeff's sweet, colourful, country cottage nuptials in Litchfield Hills, Connecticut.

The seafoam, coral and gold colour palette is beyond fresh, the florals are peachy perfect (hello peonies, garden roses and ranunculus) plus we are slightly obsessed with the bride's gorgeous Lazaro wedding dress and bouncy curls.

Not only was Jessica a beautiful bride she also made all of the insanely pretty paper goods herself. The floral motifs and patterns she designed will leave you in no doubt that Spring has sprung!

Their reception was held in a barn, decorated to rustic chic perfection with fresh blooms in milk glass, featuring delicious farm to table style dining, a Motown band to get the party started and hand rolled cigars by the log fire.

Thanks to A Guy And A Girl Photography for the photo loveliness.

The Theme & Colour Palette

Our theme was Rustic Vintage Elegance and our color pallet was a mix of seafoam, coral, golds and ivory.

The Flowers

I wanted a coral and peach garden feel to all my flowers. Soft and natural.

Brides Bouquet – coral peonies, peach garden roses, craspedias, maidenhair ferns wrapped with burlap with a band of ivory lace ribbon and secured with pearl pins and my grandmother's 1920′ brooch.

Bridesmaids – bouquets of coral peonies, peach garden roses, craspedias and green mini hydrangea wrapped in burlap and band of lace ribbon.

Centrepieces – I collected mismatched vintage milk glass vases scattered on lace runner with coral peonies peach garden roses, ranunculus, yellow craspedia, peach flowers, yellow fresia, green hydrangeas.

The Ceremony

Guests were greeted with my favorite drink the Bellini. We walked down the isle to a classical version of “all you need is love.” For the alter I wanted something unique so I had my florist design (azalea) an alter around a vintage door (sassafras vintage rentals). Throughout the year I collected vintage handkerchiefs to hand out to my guests from flea markets and online Etsy finds. The program fans were designed by me and both my mother and I spent days before the big day assembling them. My mother was a huge help in making my day beautiful. I had a few good friends fly in from San Diego to be a part of my bridal party.  Also, instead of having my best girlfriend stand beside me at the alter I had my brother as my “Man of Honor” since he is truly my best friend.

The Venue

The setting was at the Winvian which is a 113 acre luxury new England resort/spa located in Litchfield CT. The unique feature about this oasis are the 18 individually architecturally designed cottages where my guests stayed with names like “Secret Society, Artist, Treehouse (suspended in the trees) an adult style treehouse..really cool, Library and The Helicopter”.

The Photography

We hired Lauren and Michael from a guy + a girl photography to shoot our special day. We loved their unique artistic style and wanted more non traditional shots for our wedding day.

The Reception

The reception was held in a barn with strung bistro lights and tea candles lining the beams of the barn. We rented square farm stye tables with gold chairs and had lace and milk glass vases scattered as centerpieces. The food was farm to table style. For dinner we started with a summer garden salad that was made from the garden at the Winvian, and for dinner we had Painted hills farm filet of beef with Maine lobster tail. Our dessert table consisted of French macaroons and petit fours and of course our delicious wedding cake by “The Sweet Spot” We served 4 types of wine, Momo – Sauvingon Blanc, Brix – Pinot Noir, Gary Farrel – Chardonnay and Monsanto – Chianti Classico. We wanted everyone to enjoy good wine and food.

Unique Details

I wanted my wedding to be personal and I wanted my guests to feel like our wedding portrayed us as a couple which is why I designed the menus, thank you gift bags & tags, escort cards/ board, programs, table numbers and invitations. Honestly everything right down to customizing my stamps (got a bit carried away, that's the graphic artist in me!). Having those personal touches was really important to me and of course good wine & food were on top of the list as well!

The Music

Our first dance was to “The way I am” by Ingrid Michaelson.

We hired a motown band called “The Stingers” for the reception along with a DJ. As the sun set we enjoyed hand rolled cigars by Connecticut Cigar Company beside the bonfire on the patio. After the reception we moved the after party into the main house where the DJ played the bride & groom's 90's hip hop favorites!

Aren't those florals just gorgeous?!

Congratulations Jess and Jeff, wishing you every happiness in your new home and with your new puppy!

(We've got hair envy and puppy envy too now!)
