We just adore the growing trend for sweetheart tables at weddings. Don't you?

Not only is it a pretty style feature and focal point (that can be adorned with all manner of gorgeous decorations as you'll see below.)

But it also just makes sense. On what is supposed to be the most special and romantic day for you and your partner, you should take advantage of any opportunity to steal a moment together alone.

And what could be lovelier, than breaking bread together while looking out at the beautiful event you've created to celebrate your love?

Choosing a sweetheart table also helps to create a less formal feel to your seating plan, and is a good choice if a top table will throw up issues with complicated family politics, or if you have a particularly large wedding party.

It means your parents are free to host their own tables if they are separated, and your bridal party can sit with their partners, who may not know many others at the wedding.

Of course, it's wise to let your immediate family and bridal party know in advance your plans, so they're not thrown by having to sit with the rest of the guests (some people get very excited about their VIP moment on the head table!).

It's also clever to have a separate spot with a microphone for speeches, to save any complications moving the mic from say the Father of the Bride at Table 2 to the Best Man on Table 7.

Now, once you've tackled the table plan, all you've got to do is decide how you're going to pretty up your pew for two on your big day.
