Today we have a wedding dress collection that we've been meaning to share with you guys since the summer (so many gorgeous dresses, so little time!). But we're glad we're finally getting to share it with you today.
And while those gowns were pretty fabulous, in the last 18 months, the collection has been taken up a notch, with bold, modern, stylish designs, it's fast becoming a coveted cool bride go-to.
The collection we're sharing today, from S/S 2016, is ‘The Grace', named after the ever powerful, ever dynamic, and ever eccentrically dressed, Grace Jones.
And while you might be expecting military caps, silk hoods and serious power shoulders, this collection is more about a take on her essence of confidence and a disregard of the rules.
But there are some killer pant suits, there are modern takes on classic gowns, and yes, there is a little bit of shoulder action too. Scroll down to check it out, but first, read more about the muse behind the designs, from the team at Lakum.
About the Collection
‘The Grace' collection was inspired by Grace Jones in all her enigmatic beauty.
Her transformation from religious Jamaican schoolgirl to runway model to performer, mimics on a grand scale, the journey so many of us take through adolescence and into adulthood.
Our girl is fierce – confident in her inner beauty. She looks forward to breaking free of societal norms, especially on her wedding day.
Some cool wedding dresses and two pieces, right? I love the embellished tops, but the clean lines are really contemporary and effortless. The blazer waistcoat with the pants is probably my favourite though – how about you?
