wedding-films-of-the-year

Christmas holidays are all about curling up with a movie. And as we continue our round-up of our favourite posts of the year, we're bringing some festive viewing, that doubles up as wedding inspiration too.

These are some of the most stand-out wedding films from 2016. The ones that had us welling up, laughing out loud, or jetting off to far flung places, they so convincingly had us in the moment, as if we were guests ourselves.

With some of the most talented wedding filmmakers on the planet, some of the most special couples, and some of the most beautiful weddings – if you were on the fence about booking a videographer, these might just change your mind.

Happy viewing!

1. Ore & Lawson

Wedding Videographer Puglia | Ore & Lawson's Highlight from Angelo La Torre Films on Vimeo.

Ore & Lawson's destination wedding in Italy was such a gorgeous one, and we loved sharing both their photos by Paola Colleoni and their film by Angelo La Torre.

See the full posts here and here – and look out for that awesome dance entrance.

2. Wally & Sunny

Wally + Sunny Wedding Film Trailer from STUDIO 1208 on Vimeo.

Studio 1208 always create the most incredible wedding films, so when they shot Wally & Sunny's stunning Malibu bash, we had a feeling it would be epic. And boy it was.

See their full photo post here for more details about this special couple and their big day.

3. Jacob & Juliana

Jacob + Juliana /// May 21st 2016 from Owl & Tree Films on Vimeo.

Oh this was a sweet one! Juliana & Jacob's wedding film by Owl & Tree Films captured every last detail of their day, from their insanely romantic ceremony to their entirely rowdy reception.

Read the full post here and be inspired by this very cool wedding.

4. Freda & Roman

Super 8 Wedding | Mark Brown Films from Mark W Brown on Vimeo.

Freda & Roman's super 8mm wedding film by Mark Brown Films was all kinds of dreamy – their English garden wedding was unabashedly beautiful.

One to watch if you need to take a few minutes and drift away from it all. Check out the full post here.

5. Jon & Casey

Casey & Jon – Chalk Hill Estate Wedding Film (Healdsburg, CA) from studioTHP on Vimeo.

Casey & Jon's sun soaked vineyard wedding film by Sean Kenney of studioTHP had us reaching for the tissues and topping up our mascara.

This one is a tear-jerker – you have been warned! See the full post here.

6. Ricardo & Begüm

Begüm & Ricardo | Highlights from Vanessa & Ivo – Handmade Films on Vimeo.

Candid, atmospheric, and so beautiful, Begüm & Riccardo's wedding in Portugal was captured by Vanessa & Ivo – and resulted in a pretty gorgeous film.

Equal parts romantic and fun, read more about their international love story here.

7. Margaret & Andre

Andre & Margaret – Highlight Film from Amor In Motion on Vimeo.

Amor in Motion always make amazing wedding films, so we knew Margaret & Andre's would be pretty special, but we weren't expecting quite so many goosebumps!

See their full film post here, then be sure to check out their stunning wedding pictures too.

8. Nicole & Rich

Rich & Nicole from Take7 Productions on Vimeo.

We shared Nicole & Rich's wedding film by Seven Celebrations back in May and it was a pretty atmospheric one indeed. Equal parts opulent and laid back, there's lots of ideas to borrow from their big day.

See the full post with a little more about the story behind the couple here.

9. Isabelle & Simon

By the sea from LOUD on Vimeo.

Perhaps one of the most romantic wedding films we shared this year, Isabelle and Simon got married with a beautiful, intimate boho wedding celebration in Ibiza, and Sascha of Loud Cinematography was on hand to document their day. The results were pretty stunning.

Read the story behind their day here.

10. Jessie & Preeti

Preeti + Jessie // “the walk of faith” from Capture the Moment Media on Vimeo.

We shared Jessie & Preeti's incredibly emotive wedding film all the way back in January, but it still stands out as one of the memorable of the year.

We defy you to get through this one without shedding a tear. Read more about the symbolism behind their Sikh wedding here.

We're not quite in 2017 yet, so stay tuned for more round-ups of our favourite posts from 2016 over the next few days!
