In recent months, diving deep into my weathered copy of The Odyssey, it’s true! When I saw this seaside wedding styled shoot, inspired by Homer’s epic, I was taken by Monica Leggio‘s images. Blowing seagrass, muted driftwood, a model who could easily be a goddess, or say, Penelope? The seaside shoot is filled with whimsical details, perfect for a tall mythical tale.
The tablescape is so creative, using unique dried sea foliage, large seashells, earthenware, vintage flatware and a distressed table to match the surrounding driftwood. The entire reception space looks straight out of an architectural magazine featuring seaside masterpieces.
And of course, the gown is made for a breezy seaside wedding. The lightest of silk, torn and blowing in the wind. Dried florals that look like they could be made of corals and sea kelp. And finally a delicate, gold greek crown hairpiece, perfect for Penelope waiting for Odysseus.
