We are lucky to be living in a time when indie wedding dress designers and big name dress designers are both readily available. We also love that as brides, we get to decide who we want to support, by easily finding our unique style and a boutique or flagship location that carries our dream gowns.

We’ll soon be in the midst of New York Bridal Fashion Week (be sure to follow our Instagram for live updates starting tomorrow!) but we thought we would share some of our favorite designers of the moment – all from Canada!

Canada isn’t only a beautiful space to get married (seriously, have you see the picturesque photos in our real weddings section?) but a place where you might find your incredible gown! We rounded up some of the most awe-inspiring, eco-friendly, eclectic, and couture designers from Canada. Stay tuned for our NYBFW coverage, where hopefully a few of these designers will make an appearance!

1. Anais Anette

Sister duo, Magdalena Gmyr and Karolina Keeler, are the designers behind this line with a signature modern aesthetic and delicate details. Their gowns are inspired by a philosophy of grace and refined simplicity. This signature style is luxe, filled with soft silk crepes, lovely slip style gowns, and racks filled with the prettiest laces. One of our favorites in their newest collection, “The New Romantics,” is Sabine, adorned in the sweetest swiss dot mesh – while the entire collection channels an elegant, sophisticated, clean look for the modern bride.

2. Truvelle

Customizable and effortless, Truvelle’s style can be described as nothing short of heavenly. Keeping her lines simple, she allows her designs to be customized from laces, colors, and any shape bodice or skirt you can imagine. With an emphasis on design, fit, and quality, her gowns feature detailed bodices and effortlessly flowy skirts. It’s no wonder we included Truvelle’s flagship location in our top Pacific Northwest bridal boutiques roundup.

3. Laudae

Truvelle’s sexy and bold sister, Laudae, is for the unconventional bride wanting to show off her figure. Made with eco-friendly fabrics, comfy stretch linings, and plenty of support, they are the ideal sleek fitted gown for any shape or size. By sourcing and manufacturing responsibly, designer Gaby Bayona and her small team in Vancouver, BC create gowns that feel consciously good to purchase and incredibly comfortable to wear. These gowns offer bold geometric and floral laces, statement backs, and inspired designs. Like her most recent “Quaintrelle Collection” she celebrates the creatives, the entrepreneurs, and the world travelers.

4. & For Love

Bohemian, laid back, and elegant – you definitely won’t find any ballgowns here. But rather, & For Love shows off easygoing silhouettes for the high-style and chilled out bride planning an adventurous wedding affair. Their most recent “Queen of Hearts” lookbook is proof that they are fearless for the sake of love. Stunners like “Duchess” and “Brooklyn 2.0” show off just how cool it is to feel like a queen on your wedding day (hello amazing lace, sequins, and tassels!) The brand has stayed true to its original vision since 2014 with their authentic style and signature effortless attitude.

5. Ines Di Santo

Couture designer, Ines Di Santo, is defined by her intricate designs that take the classic wedding dress for a dramatic spin. Born in Buenos Aires, she now resides in Toronto where both her headquarters and flagship shop are located. With sophisticated glamour and rich details, her Spanish and Italian heritage is reflected in the essence of every one of her pieces. It’s not only a dress but a work of art. Her designs are recognizably powerful, playing to a woman’s feminine side. Whether it be rich colors, whimsical appliques, daring fabrics, or anything else that appears only a dream could create – she brings them all to life.

6. Something Blue

These feminine and softly chic styles truly stand the test of time. Immediately we’re enchanted by the combinations of light, airy fabrics, paired with silhouettes that float away from the body. With silks, chiffons, dots, and draping – it’s impossible not to fall in love. These dreamy gowns are designed and made in Vancouver, bringing a sense of sophisticated whimsy to each piece.

7. Reclamation

Calling all wild hearts! Truly bespoke, designer and creator Trista Smith works with each bride to beautifully craft your dream dress with an emphasis on bringing your vision to life. Using unique laces and vintage or reclaimed materials, each gown is a one-of-a-kind creation of boho beauty. Dreaming of being draped in antique laces? Reclamation is unlike anything else we’ve seen before and nods to the vintage charm any boho queen yearns for on her wedding day.

Her styles range from bridal queen to celebrity red carpet (no seriously, she’s dressed every one of your favorite celebs) making her another incredible couture designer to make our list. Her pieces are luxuriously crafted with intention and design. Using clean lines and classic elements, her pieces range from modern crepe styles to more detailed ballgowns.
