Icy Blue Winter Wedding Inspiration

Turn those winter blues into wedding inspiration with this ethereal bridal editorial with gowns fit for an ice queen.

Vancouver, Canada has been buzzing lately in the bridal world – with a number of trendy wedding dress and accessory designers, modern bridal shops, incredible wedding photographers & of course an already stunning set of natural Northwestern backdrops and dramatic city views.

Mattie C., fine art photographer and planner of this stunning editorial sourced from many of Vancouver’s finest for this icy blue bridal inspiration. Already being such fans of sister brands Laudae and Truvelle‘s wedding dresses we love this winter styling of the modern boho gowns – an icy blue engagement ring absolutely stuns, while a delicate white headband says “ice queen”.

And of course, we’re charmed to see one of our favorite pairs of Bella Belle Shoes, who’s looking for peep-toe booties?!

I have long been inspired by classical impressionist paintings. For this styled shoot, I dreamt of combining art history, elegance, and a touch of old-world romance.

Long been my favourite painting, I love the serene yet quiet beauty in Van Gogh’s painting, Almond Blossom. Combining flowering tree branches as a symbol of hope, blue as the focus colour with neutrals and white as adornment details, I hoped to create a styled shoot that is based on this classic painting.

We hope this will inspire brides to incorporate art history or their favourite artwork into designing their weddings. The floral designers at The Wild Bunch executed my vision so perfectly – the bouquet and centrepiece were playfully loose yet resembles the painting, much from how I would imagine it.
