I'm loving the unique blush pink and lemon yellow colour palette of this beautiful wedding, the lemon centerpieces and ‘living room' details are so much fun! Also, the bride's reception look ~ hair up and chunky pearls is oh so chic.

If you missed Part 1 of Esther and Jesse's wedding, check it out here. A lot of the stylish details were handmade by Esther. She created her own birdcage veil and headpiece, her grey belt and belts for the bridesmaids, as well as adding vintage lace to the hem of her bridesmaid's dresses. She also collected the flowers from a market and arranged them herself:

To be honest I don’t even know the names of most of the flowers I picked! I know we used a lot of hydrangeas for the reception décor but the rest I just grabbed anything that was yellow/pink/white and just went for it.

Lovely Lemon Decor and Details:

We LOVE lemons and cook EVERYTHING with them so we used them for most of our centerpieces along with hydrangeas and random stems of other flowers. Jesse hand made a string of lights to drape across the courtyard and I collected bird cages for months that we could attach on like little lanterns.

We wanted the reception to have a really cozy feel and to be casual and fun so we did open seating with lots of little café tables and set up a little “living room” section with couches and throw pillows and hung pictures from our engagement session in random frames to complete the area.

The Gifted Refreshments:

Our friend used to be a gourmet chef and offered to cater our wedding as a gift to us. We were SO fortunate to have him do this for us and got to pick out unique food. The boys went fishing for the bachelor party and brought back fresh fish to cook so we had that along with grilled steak fillets, lamb, and other fantastic food. We didn’t get to eat much ourselves we were so excited to see everyone, but I heard it was great! We got mini cakes from publix in different flavors like raspberry, lemon, chocolate, and strawberry.

The Wedding Music & Entertainment:

Jesse chose “green eyes” by Coldplay for when I walked down the aisle I’ve got green eyes and he used to sing it to me when we first started dating. Hally Frank is an incredible jazz singer and she sang music for the ceremony and for our first dance and a little music hour during the reception. Our first dance was to “Somebody Loved” by the Weepies. That’s our song and one of our favorite bands.

Photography & Videography:

As a photographer myself I wanted someone I could trust with our special day. Since we chose to go with digital photography for the pictures we chose to use Super 8mm film for our video so we had a mix of media and had both timeless and vintage styled memories from our day.

You can watch their gorgeous vintage 8mm wedding film here.

Advice for other brides/couples:

In the end  the only thing that really matters is the fact that you are marrying your best friend. All of the other details are just details and it turns out they aren’t really that important. We felt so blessed to have such a sweet celebration with our closest friends and family to start off the rest of our lives together.

We laugh and call the month of our wedding the “tornado” because we had lots of little and big hiccups like cancelled vendors, broken things, alteration disasters, flat tires, you name it and it probably went wrong. Somehow though with all of the chaos and craziness everything just pulled together and worked out that day. I just decided that I didn’t care what happened as long as I got to be Mrs. McFarland by the end of the night. Don’t take the little things too seriously because in the end none of it matters

Such good advice! Thank you to Esther and Jesse for sharing your beautiful wedding story, wishing you a lifetime of friendship and love to get you through any stormy weather.

Many thanks to Scarlett & Stephen Photography for sharing their stunning photography, it's been such a pleasure to feature your work!
