I know what you were thinking when you read that headline and yes, pastels can be fashion-forward. Just take a look at this stunning Greek wedding editorial inspired by the James Bond classic ‘For Your Eyes Only’. With sophisticated dress & refined decor even the most dainty & feminine of hues can be seen as modern and sexy.

Really, for me, it’s all in the wedding dress & groom’s suit. A lighter, whimsical gown would make this pink colored wedding scene look ultra-feminine & maybe even a bit bohemian (both of which we would love!). But, the carefully structured, deep v-neck dress sends a message of ‘grown-up sophistication’. Paired with a bold & utterly fashion-forward white groom’s suit, we have the chic modern couple.

The bold, clean lines featured in dress are contrasted by not only the soft colors of the decor, but fluffy pampas grass as well. We’re dying for this arched ceremony space that surrounds the bride & groom with the oh-so-trendy foliage.

Photographed by the creamy, light-filled lens of Panos Demiropoulos, this 007 inspiration (shot at the very same villa the movie was filmed at!) of course, includes some signature wedding cocktails, shaken not stirred.

Ian Flemming’s 007 characters on the big screen may have lent years of sartorial inspiration and influenced costume design and menswear dapper as the famous British spy himself, but what about the ‘Big Day’? Well, this wedding inspiration at the very villa where the 1979 007 Film “For Your Eyes Only” was filmed is just as tempting as the film’s romantic title.

Ensconced in Kanoni in Corfu, Greece, corseted by lush gardens (that include the second most ancient eucalyptus tree on the globe) and packed with a lily pond, an ivy-clad poolhouse, vineyards, and mesmerizing sea views, Villa Sylva was where we took our shoot along with a team of incredible creatives. Newly renovated the place itself serves as one of the most elite wedding venues on the island of Corfu and it will definitely capture the hearts of those who seek privacy for their elegant affair.

The Decor

Aris Papachristou from Belli Momenti Weddings set a scene just enough to have a couple jump on the luxurious train asap, with an elegant table by the pool in hues of pink gold, lilac and blush to match the sky palettes during sunset.

Meanwhile, the renowned floral designer Leonidas Rammos created a vow reading crescent of pampas grass on the garden. The floral arrangements for the table and the bride’s heart-shaped bouquet were built with clusters of hydrangeas, white o’ hara, syllable wabbara and bimbastic spray roses, asparagus greenery and the brand new lysianthus in botanic pink, as to evoke union and continuity.

Beautiful Letters from Italy sent in a hand-calligraphed suite of wedding stationery carrying iconic landmarks of Corfu and a watercolor design of the villa, including the couple’s dinner menu, vows, place cards and special gift cards to their guests.

The Beauty

Lovely Elysian from Denmark designed the bride’s two pretty headpieces, the Pearly Gates headband in pearl coins and gold, and the Sweet Child of Mine rosequartz hairpins that Thalia Makeup Lab Artistry employed for the bride’s updo. Working her magic Thalia gave our bride a chic and dewy makeup in rose gold and light pink all by Charlotte Tilbury.

The Fashion

As Apollonia’s bridal gown was tailored-made to her silhouette by Greek designer Kamelia Andriotti in fluid silk satin directly inspired from Carole Bouquet’s flair the styling was completed with dainty real black diamonds by Greek jewel designer Kousvelaris and suede sandals by Dukas Chatzidoukas.

Teti Charitou dressed our elegant groom to the nines with an off-white silk dinner jacket in shantung silk, a look complete with black skinny tux trousers, a silk bowtie and the stylist added a pair of enamel cufflinks reading AP a nod to the bride’s name.

The Cake & Cocktails

Cake Boutique Corfu designed an oil painted style square tier cake embossing nuances from the bridal bouquet and the palette of our stationery.

For a couple of lovers who like their bespoke slings shaken not stirred, the hue-changing-upon-request garden bar set by The Secret Kitchen created some truly inspired cocktails we’re sure every wedding needs.
