No doubt, Florence & Vera‘s team of talented vendors found splendid ways to bridge the gap between nostalgic vibes & modern sensibility by styling our fashionable bride and groom in glamorous vintage garb from throw-back silhouettes, dapper tailoring & even a birdcage veil. Mastering the art of mixing the old & new, we see an off-white faux fur that is equal parts vintage-inspired in absolutely ‘now’.

And on the note of nostalgia, Perfect Bouquet Full of Flower‘s floral arrangements are akin to renaissance paintings. With the help of Gail Secker‘s emotive & moody photographs, heirloom tulips, muted-toned roses & glossy anthurium look practically painted into the glamorous scene.

Putting a shoot together is truly igniting; it’s an exciting, creative extravaganza for suppliers. This styled shoot was no different, and wow, does it shine! The team – brought together by Kate at Florence & Vera Events – were passionate about showcasing their abilities. But, more importantly, the team wanted to celebrate the exceptionally stunning couple, Rick and Lauren.

Great John Street Hotel in Manchester became a melting pot of modern glamour. This jewel in Eclectic Hotel Group’s collection provided urban-sophistication in classic Mancunian style. The charm of its former Victorian schoolhouse days is still evident although its modern guise boasts a spectacular roof terrace with astounding views of the City centre. A perfect marriage of urban luxe and glamour; this is a venue to relish!

The Styling

To style a shoot in any venue like the sumptuous Great John Street Hotel is an absolute joy. The lavish surroundings cultivated organic chemistry between the assembly of talented suppliers. The stunning team were hand-picked for their expertise and, together, decided on the theme of modern glamour.

This was embodied in Perfect Bouquet Full of Flower’s displays. The mellow splashes of burgundy and gold created a sense of warmth and luxury throughout the venue. Lauren’s natural bouquet felt perfectly proportioned and Rick’s delicate buttonhole added a beautiful finishing touch.

Kate at Florence & Vera Events styled the tablescape with brass candlesticks and lustrous accessories. These were topped with gorgeous, long, ivory tapered candles. The exquisite table runner and napkins, from Silk & Purl, laid the foundations for a sophisticated banquet. This was stylishly completed by Pot Kettle White who provided gorgeous glassware and chic crockery.

The Fashion & Beauty

Wilderness Bride dressed the elegant bride in two whimsical dresses. They strive to create effortless and timeless looks with whimsy and subtlety. The versatility of the dresses allows brides to accessorise with something new, old, borrowed or blue. This personalisation made Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe the perfect collaborators as the brand reworks vintage accessories from their workshop in Manchester. Their plethora of treasures included the birdcage veil, antiqued hairpins, a cluster of brooch combs and a rose gold garter.

Finally, to uphold the fun tradition, the bride carried a lucky horseshoe. The look was finessed with shoes by Rachel Simpson; the go-to connoisseur in the wedding industry. Her shoes feel classic and timeless thanks to their vintage-nuances. Better yet, they are all British designed with true attention-to-detail.

The detail was echoed by the unique Wildflower Hair Company who styled Lauren’s floral, bohemian hairdos. They work in a collaborative, sensitive manner which embraces the bride’s hair dreams and wedding theme. Lauren Poole joined the beauty squad as makeup artist who specialises in flawless, natural makeup looks.

The Finishing Touches

Wedding stationery can set the scene months before the big day. It’s an essential element in any celebration and its possibilities are endless. Jellypress embrace imagination in all their creations to honour the theme and ambiance of the day.

The ambiance was magnified by the impressive designs of Love Lights The Way who create stunning bespoke backdrops. Just like stationery, they add a personal touchpoint in the day that guests can interact with. They encapsulated modern glamour then amplified it! To enhance the backdrops, Balloonsmith brought the drama with two beautiful installations. This included metallic “Orbz” and magical balloon cloud; a perfect addition to the terrace setting.

Photography & Videography

No wedding would be complete without the wonderful documentation skills of photographers and videographers. They employ their expertise to capture moments in time we want to remember forever. Gail Secker captured the day in photos. Her relaxed, informal and artistic style were perfect for the shoot as she put Rick and Lauren at total ease. Gail visualised the most romantic moments and joyousness of the day in true style; the couple’s chemistry is clear to see.

Amy Louise added another layer of story-telling through videography. Her videos compliment photography in a beautiful way through added depth, sound, and movement. After all, who wouldn’t want to capture their big day in true cinematic style?

The Cake

No wedding breakfast is complete without the ceremonial cutting of the cake. Pink Cocoa Cakes worked their magic to epitomise urban-sophistication. The modern simplicity was complimented by a dramatic hunter green tier and flora.
