Deep juicy berries, bright tangy citrus – the vivid colors of this botanical wedding inspiration has us craving a fruity cake more than anything today!

Set in a stunning botanical garden in Lisbon, Portugal, today’s wedding editorial is a dream scene for any bride or groom looking to paint their wedding with flamboyant color. Portuguese wedding planner & stylist Nulyweds (who specializes in colorful events!) gathered a team to design a wedding space that complements the blooming rainbow of Estufa Real.

Juicy florals of orange, pink & purple (just like my own bridal bouquet!) are splashed across the tablescape, the bride’s beautiful bouquet & even her fresh floral comb.

Our favorite color-rich detail? The cake, of course! With all the tantalizing talk of berry & citrus tones, we can’t help but find our mouth-watering over the palette painted cake – which is so trendy right now!

From Nulyweds

This photoshoot was inspired by bright clashing colours and the secret garden vibe of the Estufa Real botanical garden. Estufa Real translates as Royal Greenhouse and is a stunning, centrally located Lisbon venue that was perfect for this vibrant, modern shoot. It has an authentic Lisboeta vibe with the famous bridge over the River Tejo in the background and handmade cobblestones paving the paths in the surrounding streets.

The resident peacocks were also stand out characters in this shoot’s story, from guiding our couple up the stairs to following us suppliers into the greenhouse when we were packing down!

The Florals & Design

As a wedding planner in Portugal (Nulyweds), I specialise in colourful styling and this combination of the moody blues and uplifting corals, pinks and purples was a joy to design. Our wonderful florist Eva from Happy Day used locally sourced flowers to create a whimsical bouquet, a sweet boutonniere, a half flower crown, hanging floral rings for the ceremony scene and to fill our blue vases for the table.

The stationers, In Love Weddings, created a geometrical design with our colour scheme for a modern, fun look. Festa Aluga provided the huge rustic table, blue plates, glasses and cutlery which tied together with the floral elements, stationery and tangerine name card holders. The cake was a buttercream design by the creative Verbena Desserts with subtle splashes of blue and purple to tie it into the colour scheme.

The Dress & Beauty

Our bride wore an original dress and cape by Seni Dey which gave her an ethereal look. This elegance was amplified by the strikingly bold makeup and hair design by Cati Beauty.

The Photography

Our wonderful photographer, Luisa Starling painted a real story with our couple Patrícia and André. They met three years ago on a beach and their natural affection for each other made the shoot ten times better!
