As a wedding coordinator myself, I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to manage your guests. Chances are you’re getting asked the same questions repeatedly — “When’s the wedding?” “Where should I stay?” “Where are you registered?” “Can I bring the kids?” etc. You’ve got a wedding to plan, spare yourself the time and energy!

That’s where Wix.com comes in. With dozens of free, customizable templates and easy-to-use interfaces, Wix is our favorite place to create your own wedding website, regardless of your web design abilities (or lack thereof, if you’re anything like me).

It’s never been easier to address those tiresome FAQs, and more importantly, show off your love! Wix has so many gorgeous wedding templates to choose from — whether romantic and feminine, fun and playful, or sleek and modern, there’s a style of template for every bride.

If you’re just getting started, read on for eight of our top tips on what to include in your Wix wedding website. All of these pointers are tried and true from real brides — they’ve done the work and sometimes learned the hard way, so you don’t have to!

Tell Your Story

By now you’ve probably been asked a million and one times, “how did you guys meet?” Maybe you love recounting the story time and time again, but maybe you’d rather direct them to its own page on your site, where you can gush about your love story to your heart’s content.

We love when couples share “both sides” of the story — you may even learn something new from your honey’s perspective!

Include an FAQ

Save yourself the time you would otherwise spend fielding those repeat questions that fill your inbox and text messages and include a simple FAQ page on your site.

Bonus – you can be as straightforward as necessary without hurting feelings.

For example, the question: “Can I bring a date?”

Answer: “We wish we could give everyone a plus one, but our venue has a small limit of guests. So if your date is named on your invitation, yes! If not, we promise [insert handsome bestie here] will dance with you.”

Find Promo Codes

Bridal Musings managing editor — and real bride! — Claire Eliza suggests finding promo codes for your guests to use.

“Searching for promo codes is so quick and easy, and so many people forget it’s a ‘thing!’ We included a promo code for rental cars for our Mexico wedding and saved people 20% on their rentals. This also meant everyone basically rented from the same company which was convenient for people arriving and leaving the area.”

Manage RSVPs

We know, traditional RSVP cards can be a pain — from buying and designing the cards to paying for postage, to dealing with guests who lost theirs, they can be more trouble than they’re worth.

Try managing your RSVPs directly through your site. If you have guests who are slow to respond (and you will!), ping them with a reminder text that has a direct link to your RSVP page.

Tell Guests About Your Future Plans (If You Want To!)

Whether you’re moving to a new city, honeymooning somewhere exotic, or even just settling into newlywed life, think about sharing your future plans with your curious guests. It may even help them pick useful gifts from your registry and nip other dreaded questions (“when are you having kids”) in the bud.

Give Detailed Directions To Your Venue

More than once as a guest, I have been woefully misdirected by Google maps or, worse, lost without cell service. We suggest including detailed directions to your venue, especially if your wedding is off the grid. Trust us, you don’t want to be getting calls from disoriented guests minutes before you walk down the aisle!

Recommend Accommodations

At the top of the list of most frequently asked questions must be, “Where should I stay?” or “Is this place close enough?” Do your guests a solid and take the guesswork out of where to book.

Make an “accommodation section” on your site and include any hotel blocks or nearby bed and breakfasts. Consider linking to an ‘Airbnb wish list’ of fabulous rentals near your venue that guests can quickly choose from.
